| At this point I honestly have to say the Goblins were better and more interesting characters than any of the MCs we were stuck with. They should have some goblins finish killing them off already and take over the show. |

| I was wondering if anyone else appreciated the goblins but the fact theres an appreciation thread speaks for itself haha. I got a question and I wonder if anyone was thinking the same. At the beginning of the anime I was thinking they were going to do a questioning of morality plot. Especially since they have shown the goblins hanging around, playing, etc... so they are sentient beings who communicate even though we don't know if they have their own language. So I was kind of disappointed that they just got used to killing the goblins and no one ever seemed to stop to think "is it right to be killing them?" As far as weve seen up to now the humans have always attacked first and the goblins simply retaliated. In all the episodes up to now they have shown tidbits of the goblins lives and interactions showing they are not just mindless beasts. But why are the creators doing that if the goblins will just be fodder for our "heroes" to kill? |

The main characters spend the entire series killing them and nothing more (even Haruhiro and the background characters lampshades that), and fantasy worlds often offer more creatures than mere goblins (like the kobolds that Mary's previous party killed). However: Yeah there are other creatures. But for me at least the reason the goblins are interesting is because they are sentient creatures with their own society. I dont know if there are other creatures like that in the world. To me at least the kobolds seemed like actual beasts rather than intelligent creatures. |
