In a way I guess it's blind dating, but blind dating with more of a common interest in the mix. For example, people on MAL generally like anime. So you have that interest in common already. So it's not completely blind. |

| Maybe that just a lot of us are lonely people. You don't really have much else going on in real life and you found someone online and it clicks. You really have nothing to lose and more to gain. I don't really believe in online dating because I know how much catfishing happens and what have you. MAL is pretty global too. Most of the people I type to are from Europe and Asia and I'm from the U.S. Another important thing would be putting a voice to the words. I haven't done a voice call in over half a year through people I meet on MAL. I personally would never date anyone without having a video chat with them many times. |
