So I'm currently reading Duopo Canquiong the manhua and I keep noticing the characters say that it's been 3 years since Xian Yan left his hometown but wasn't his leave of absence only for a year did I miss something or did they just forget about the time?

I also have the same question, im just gonna guess he didnt care anymore, which is kinda bad since his "GF" is there so idk whats up with it. Im trying not to look at the glaring flaw

there were already been two years passed from start of the 3 year promise (at least 1.5 years) when he decide to go to the academy.
