| ^It's just a pipe. The end looks like a pumpkin because Henzo probably worked on it. So in order to leave the mist, it looks like you need something to be connected to the outside world when you go into the mist...kind of a cheap explanation if that's it, but I'll deal with it. So yeah, the marine major is Lapanui's father. I'm wondering how he got out of the mist though; looking forward to the next episode :D |

| Why did Usopp give Isoka tea? What she truly deserved was a beating. Such a retarded child. What if Nami was bluffing? (We all know that she wasn't, but still). A decent episode nonetheless. |
I hated this episode, because it was full of plotholes/inconsistent characters...
If it werent for these, it could have been a decent episode to pass the time. |

| The only thing making this arc enjoyable now are the jokes having something to do with the Wetton family. There's too much shit that doesn't make sense, the kids are annoying as hell and apparently Sanji and Chopper can't take care of small fries according to this filler. |

| Sanji and Chopper didn't put up a fight at all. My problem about adding such an overpowered person to the crew has already been shown (even if this is filler), instead of being observant and smart as normal she refuses to use her power to save the day until its too late and even then it's only too late due to plot convenience. Nami who's been shown to be compassionate and sympathetic towards people even if her exterior says otherwise literally said she didn't care about the kids life. At first I thought it was a bait to make him put the kid down because the hostage situation wouldn't work but then.. it didn't play out like that. Remember when she couldn't let Luffy die by the hands of Buggy way earlier in the series when she had hardly known him? There was also the phone that only went through to the other side because the plot needed it. All of that on top of some seemingly unexplained plot elements like the mist in the mist that they just happened to fall into makes this arc pretty inconsistent and sloppily written, but for my last point about the unexplained elements- I'll wait to really go in on that since I've been proved wrong far too many times based on my first reactions. That being said I honestly wish this arc was a One Piece movie. Rather than how it obstructs the plot in a contradictory way and stunts all flow the anime had, it would possibly live up to the best movie to the date airing wise and it'd be a nice break from the three predictable adventure movies that have come out already. |
| I really like how Usopp's usually the voice of reason in emotional situations such as that. He really gets how people think despite him being you know, him~ Rapa Nui's dad is pretty cool launching coins out of sight like that. He should come out to help more often though. I'll have to admit that using Rainbow Tower like that in order to get into Ape's Concert was pretty genius. I'd have Wetton's men collect all the treasure in there before beating them up if I were one of the Straw Hats lmao |
