Many people dislike filler episodes. But most people dislike pacing as well.

Slow pacing allows you to watch the canon story. Fillers allow you to watch new stories you do not know.

Slow pacing can help to set the atmosphere. Fillers can be skipped.

Both are terrible.

Just take a break while chapters rack up.

But that would damage their profits, so just go with lesser of 2 evils: filler. If it's filler, you can just skip it.

Well, let's say you have to watch at least one of the two. Or else, you can just skip filler and whatnot. I prefer anything over filler, really. Slow pace is my jam, but I just hate having something not canon in the story. Most of the time, fillers make zero sense and are made without effort.

Both destroy the anime. Filler = Naruto, Snail pace = One Piece.

And when the canon come in, those things doesn't disappear so it make the canon content shit too.

Filler arc. They can be pretty decent, with a little effort.
It's an entirely different kind of flying, altogether!

Take a break is the preferred option, otherwise we get Naruto Fillerpudden with 4453534 fillers to milk it. But if I had to choose, I would take slow pacing over fillers at any given time, just because it will atleast follow the story rather than adding something that is guaranteed to either be a hit or miss.

Masterfully executed Slow Pacing > Crappy filler episodes.

Why do you even need to ask that question OP?

You can skip fillers but you can't skip dragged episodes. So I prefer fillers though most of the time I skipped them but there are good fillers.

I'd prefer filler to slow pacing with repeated information.
Being retold the same thing over and over in a show is a major turn off for me.

You can skip fillers, you can't skip slow pacing.

Sometimes slow pacing helps. I found that the season-and-a-half leading up to Clannad's main arc helped me to grow an attachment to the characters and made the ending more meaningful. Similarly, the fast pacing of Angel Beats had an adverse effect.
However, this obviously isn't always the case. I just want to express that slow pacing is sometimes essential.

Click "edit post" for the thread, and an "add poll" option should show up. Fill in the options and then you'll be set.

I prefer breaks myself as filler tends to ruin the pacing and potentially the main characters who we grown to like.

Granted, filler can technically be really good but only such few series sadly can pull it off.

I'm fine with filler as long as its done well, and they don't base it around some lame ass side characters no one cares about like naruto fillers.

What if the fillers themselves have a slow pace? Sometimes it felt that way with me during the Naruto filler arcs before Shippudden.

Might as well ask "which method for preventing the anime to catch to the manga do you prefer? The One Piece method? The Naruto method? Or perhaps the Fairy Tail method?"

slow paced pls, prime example would be VN adaptations but it would take forever to cover all paths so that's kinda a bad example.

I'm fine with either.
Although, when people refer to certain series as "slow paced" I will watch the same series and not feel the same way. So I think slow pacing can be a bit more subjective (unless they mean slow as in it takes a while to build up to the climax, but every great climax needs to have a few steps to get to).

As far as fillers go, it depends on the series. There are some series that are basically all filler (lucky star) but it works for that show. Then you have shows like DBZ where the filler was just so fucking unnecessary. On top of that, a lot of the filler in DBZ wasn't even entertaining.

I am fine with filler as long as it is either useful to the backstory or if it is entertaining and doesn't stray too far from the overarching theme.

Like in revolutionary girl Utena there were some scenes other have deemed as "filler", but each of those so called filler episodes had a very clear message and still kept inline with the story.

The only filler episode I like is Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works season 2 episode 13(even though it wasn't what it could of been).
So no. Keep it slow.

Filler easily. If you made Hunter x Hunter well paced with some arcs I would outright skip (aside from Zoldyck Family and Greed Island) I might have not loathed the show.

Right now I think Fairy Tail is doing the best job at "filler" by adapting the prequel material. The characters are enjoyable and at the very least I feel like there is a reason why we are being told this specific story.

I prefer the same, but if I had to pick between the two, I prefer slow pacing. The anime I seen with slow pacing don't have repetitive scenes, so I'm not counting that. I can't stand fillers, unless it provides backstories to the characters. Otherwise, I find them pointless and without purpose.

I like slow pacing if it's a build up to something(Steins;Gate, Shiki) but I dislike it if it does not really build ups to something(Beck).

I don't really dislike filler arcs if it is entertaining enough and is not really long and drawn out.

Repeating scenes? I hate Endless Eight with a passion so yeah, I hate it.

I don't care about sticking to the canon. I want whatever story that's being told to be told well. Even if the episode is a slice-of-life moment, make it count. Use it to develop characters or create interesting situations.

Poll where?

Definitely filler arcs, there were some very enjoyable once like the One Piece filler arc after Skypiea which didn't feel like filler at all. Slow pacing like the Dress Rosa arc is horrible though.
