I checked around the forums for that site mentioned above, apparently the patch for Zero will have a release window in December.

Yep that is the case.

The fan TL quality however is pretty bad but better than nothing for the west.

Oh, you've seen some of the TL? From the sound of it, I thought it was gonna be pretty good.

Yeah I've seen the TL.

Also, the leader of the translator team apparently only played Zero and Ao no Kiseki and no other games...

So yeah...

MC of Nayuta no Kiseki (of course doesn't follow the Kiseki series story line).

I think between the team, the only game that hasn’t been played is The 3rd.

One of their translators is the one who wrote the walkthrough for Trails in the Sky and he also translated the entire prologue for Zero no Kiseki on YouTube.

I wouldn’t be that concerned about translation. What I’ve seen of it has been good, but not amazing. The major worry is the project leader who has only played Sky, and doesn’t know the series well. As long as the other members fix up any mistakes made, the final result should turn out to be decent.

The preview translation that they put on YouTube was decent quality TL at best tho.

I just hope they won't fuck up the names.

I remember the leader of the Fan TL wanting to make the name of Zero no Kiseki into Trails of the Void, which makes no sense because the "Zero" part of the name has a very significant meaning and foreshadowing of the entire Crossbell arc.

I get that, but that's what editing is for. Hacking wise though, what they've shown is incredibly solid. No text-overflow and graphics are edited well.

Still, I think it's too early to write the project off as completely bad without seeing the final version. There's still some hope, and thankfully the team managed to to convince him to change it to Trails to Zero.

Yeah been news for a few days.

Floofy, Gu4n and Yotaka taking over is great. The translations from zeromonkey was so bad..

Now the fan translation is worth looking at for western fanbase.

You are a bit late to the party.

The leaked fan TL by zeromonkey is MTL'd garbage (MTL = Machine Translation) so I won't update the post until the full edited script is released (tho the base is still MTL).

Didn't feel like machine translation when i tried it. I was actually quite impressed how easy it was to read and follow. Now i don't know japanese so i can't compare the text to see if it's accurate or not, but if it's like the beginning throughout the entire game, then it's completely fine. A desperate soul will easily accept an unreadable line a few times to get his fix.

Follow the progress of both Zero and Ao here:

AO: http://gurennoheyakara.blogspot.no/p/games.html

It's MTL + edited.

Same with the Ao leak.

It's pretty fucking bad lol.

Source: Played Zero/Ao and Zero/Ao Evo in JP so I compared the scripts and it's fucking horrible.

Horrible as in words and sentences are structured differently or horrible as in the script being radically different? One of those gets a reluctant pass.

Script being different.

Its literally google translate and the edited, not even encompassing the original script meaning at all

Ao no Kiseki translations 100% complete, but unedited.

Sora no Kiseki SC Evolution English Patch now finished. Requires a 3.60 Vita.
