| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Pretty solid episode. The battle between Luffy and Doffy was so intense. Law wanted to stay behind to witness Luffy's battle, but Cabbage...err, Cavendish stayed behind with him. Zoro's got some idea and he insisted the two samurai to come with him. Luffy used Gear Second and Gear Third consecutively to launch his strongest attacks on Mingo, but still not enough to land a critical blow to take down the madman. Luffy won't give up! Nothing will stand in his way, not even the Birdcage and Mingo himself. Luffy's speech at the end was emotionally moving. And in the final moments of the episode in front of an angry Mingo, he said it. "Gear....FOURTH!" Damn, dat preview. Just damn! You guys hyped?! :D |

| Nothing special episode but I'm ready for this upcoming one to come already! Honestly, I'm liking the things that Luffy is saying to Mingo though. The dialogue between the two made this episode good in my books even though I didn't really like everything else. Abnormally long recap, or was that much me? |

| I think it's a given that the super long recap is annoying as heck. I'm tired of them padding things out like that constantly. But it's been going on for hundreds of episodes now...Just treat it like it's a 15 minute episode. Somehow One Piece became a short episode kind of show, oh well. The content of the episode was good. Luffy's fight with Doflamingo remains entertaining. The flaws One Piece has are there, but at least the show makes good on the clashes with the main villain of the arc. Really got to see Luffy pushing it, just trying to find a combination of attacks that could deliver enough damage. And of course getting to what has remained an issue for him for a while. 3rd has power but no speed and 2nd has the speed, but can lack the finishing power. Creating a gear that hopefully deals with that issue makes good sense. Doflamingo is a fun villain. The guy is damn powerful, durable, and can lay down the verbal smack talk effectively enough. Just seemed solid when you get down to this conflict. Luffy looking winded after all the fighting they've done and yet still hasn't done enough to win it. Also I like Law really arguing to stay put. The defeat of Doflamingo is too important. It's been his life the whole time. He feels he has to stay to see this through to the end. May the next episode just deliver pure awesomeness. |

| Well Toei has really butchered the pacing of the Dressrosa Arc but Imo it's still watchable. The Luffy vs Doffy clash was really intense, The Haki effects looked really cool and finally Gear 4th!!! I have been waiting for this ever since it's reveal in the manga. Overall a pretty good episode. The preview looks so Hype!! Hope Toei do justice to G4. |

| Ouch. This episode was even barely animated. Last season's Kagewani had a more fluid animation. Well, let's hope that's because they put their effort in the next epsidoe. |

The anime is not that bad, but cannot be considered "really well animated". As for the HYPE GEAR 4th. Wondering how the pace of the fight will be presented. They don't need to follow the script of the manga for the fight, so I'm hoping a lot of action. |

| It's literally exactly the same like the manga an entire chapter is like 10 mins of an episode people usually do like 2 - 3 chapters per episode but one piece no no no they do 1 for each ep. Which is why the preview and stuff is so long .... |

| A slightly longer recap after a week off and nearing the ultimate fight? Oh noes, the horror... Maybe we all saw a different show because I loved this episode, that battle was wild and the dialogue between Luffy and Doffy was great. I even liked the side stuff. Bart and Cavendish were all kinds of awesome, as usual to be fair. That music after the break was restrained but beautiful, this arc sure has been delivering the musical goods. It fit the mood perfectly and gave me chills when Law was begging Cavendish to let him see things through to the end. Cabbage's cloak looks good on Robin. I think this episode struck a good balance between the main fight, the side characters, the brief flashbacks, and the birdcage carnage. Speaking of flashbacks, man Doffy's current outfit looks much better than the pre-skip. I didn't have any problem with the animation. Although, if an arc was going to get the movie treatment like Alabasta, I'd love to see it happen to Dressrosa. There are a lot of fights in this that are epic enough to deserve much better. I just wish among manga readers on MAL there weren't so many inconsiderate folks who don't bother with spoiler tags. That way I wouldn't have any idea what the next Gear was. |
| The animations looked crappy in this episode -_- Not really hyped since retards around the internet have already spoiled the fourth gear to me multiple times as if they wanted to make sure I don't enjoy this episode. But oh well, I'm expecting the next episode to be great, it's the climax of Doffy's long battle after all. |

| Waaaayyy too slow. Took like 3 hours to get to the end of the episode because the entire minutes of nothing happening and the massive dragging of it made me constantly pause and do something else in frustration. 2/5 because I guess there have been worse episodes. But assuming that episodes like 37 and 126 were 5/5, this one really can't be higher than 2/5 if you're trying to be objective within the anime. 273 is another episode I consider 5/5, let's see if the next episode will stand up to it... Pff, I wish. Speaking of which, in that episode the best fight took like 1 minute and 10 seconds. Now OP's taking 30 episodes per fight. This arc truly could have been a year shorter, and much better while doing so. |

| Omg Gear fourth. Ruffy really looked liked a hulk. I don't know what I should expect because it reminds me a little bit on the Thriller Barc arc where Ruffy mutates to a giant zombie hulk. So excited for next week! HYPE!! :D |
