Kittens-kun said: Is OPM really not popular in Japan? Its latest volume sold almost 700k... It's popular, but not extraordinary so. |
5 main aspects I base my ratings on: 1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it? 2. Is it better than Breaking Bad? 3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it? 4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL? 5. Is it actually good? Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant... |

One Piece expectedly selling insanely well. Volume 79 nearing 3 million mark whilst still on list, quicker than the previous few volumes. Not surprising considering what happens in it. Expect volume 80 to do the same if not better since a certain 'Suicide' was in this volume I believe. I hope Dagashi Kashi gets a good boost, already selling very well though. Hope someone over here licenses it but doubtful, not exactly an easy sell in NA which is the primary English language market. |

Also I think the Movie will boost the backlog sales heavily, its getting advetised heavily and will get advertised even more I think. Also its a new movie after 4 years and the amount of volumes One Piece has helps the backlog sales aswell. |

TG increase I guess it had to do with Kanekis return, The japs like the edge for some reason. OP Vol 79 back in the Top 50. AssClass with nice sales in the first week and their backlog sales are strong as well. OPM wont hit the million mark unless Season 2 comes, or let MH pull a Pierrot and go full anime original for Season 2, HEY it worked with Tokyo Ghoul lol. TG, AssClass and NNT sales will be very close. For the last 2, they have strong backlog sales imo. |
