Good animation. Decent start, but if you analyze it in a detailed way, for now at least, it's pretty generic, 3 episodes rule for me.

That was a really nice start. I enjoyed the visuals, the pace was nice and quick, and the setting is actually pretty good. Like the idea of the perceptions of humanity getting suddenly changed and now the world is just having to adjust to these things becoming part of their reality.

I will say it's kind of fun that they play around with the fanservice a bit. I mean can't say I've seen many limbo fanservice scenes or really any where that kind of tactic was used to win XD.

Like the MC, a very knowledgeable person who reads a lot, Mai is pretty awesome and the main fighter, and Reina has quite the appetite XD.

Just as dumb, cliche and generic as I expected it to be. Though of course, just because it's KyoAni and they have pretty colors, people eat it up.
I'd guarantee if this was made by any other studio the score would be so much lower. 8.04, really? Pathetic.

Crappy duo of a super strong girl and a complete wimp voiced by that guy who's in way too many shows recently routine. That's one poor start. And how to NOT write characters. I admit, I watched it past the 5 minute mark only because of the fairy. Ok, ok and bloomers...

Sadly, it seems like another series that could be half decent if it wasn't for an unbelievably shitty MC. And really? "It's a common knowledge but I'll explain anyway"? Scriptwriter should get his ass kicked for something like this. I'm not sure what to think about breasts dodging limbo though... HOTD comes to mind... Anyway, it's hard to run a show on fanservice alone so it will probably be a drop soon.

Who would have thought years back that KyoAni will become an epitome of almost everything that is wrong with anime industry now.

I second that.

The episode felt kinda rushed. KyoAni's strength is making the right atmosphere and delivering astounding panoramic backgrounds, while here there's apparently no place for either of them.
Ruru strongly reminded me of Muru Muru form Mirai Nikki.
About the fanservice... Not sure if the originality was ridiculously bad or ridiculously good. Juat like the whole idea of dancing utility poles.
Hey!

Check Mononoke out!

no not pathetic since anime = animated

ppl who cry about stories should go read a book, there are far more interesting stories in western lit than in anime.

Excellent first episode. I like the set up so far, there could be some great adventures in store. Of course, the visuals are incredible, per the norm for KyoAni.

The characters seem fun and interesting. It's only been one episode, so we'll see how they develop.

Ruru is super cute, she reminds me of Shantae.

Can't wait to see more. Just one episode in and it's already miles better than Shit Euphonium.

Also, I absolutely love all the salt in this thread.

Solidly enjoyable introductory episode. That game of limbo was great fun. Mai and her big beautiful tits is/are best girl, but Reina was also great with her big beautiful mouth! :D

More fanservice-y than expected. Op is great and Animations are dope, however, a little on the cliché side.

Hilariously terrible. A cut above the other average shitty LN adaptations because of the excellent production values.

Mai still has ways to go before she is as great as Sento Isuzu but she has her own charm.
Izuma is nice in a way as well.

The main seems i bit like your average main so for then again some of the other characters that appeared where typical Kyoani so it doesn't have to be a bad thing.

So it's the generic kind of way to get superpowers again huh? where have i seen this before?
I know most of these illusions!
KyoAni always delivers when it comes to art/animation, Mai in particular looks freaking cute, not too mention sexy af x3
& i mean sexy as fuck. (those boob physics though >.> )
Having Sumipe voice her was perfect! love the voice cast of this one...
I love the ecchi here, it's obviously there but not over the top like most of the ecchi last year.
I love Koito's design, looks like Maaya's using a different voice type for her...

It was such a lazy way to handle exposition, I almost thought it was on purpose. Like they're parodying shows which do infodumps or something.

It would have worked if Reina was like "bitch why are you telling me this, I've been eating Phantoms for years."

Kyoani just said "Screw it, we'll milk dat bewbs as much as we could."

They should tone down the fanservice a little, it almost take me out of the story.

Pretty good start as expected of KyoAni. Just hope the plot won't go downhill later on. Haven't check the novel yet but can we expect some romance here?
Keep moving forward

Animation as usual of KyoAni is beautiful, I enjoyed the action but the fanservice was way more than I thought it'll be (It felt weird at times as well), hopefully it gets better as we go on.

First episode really looked generic...This episode also reminded me of Charlotte, Kyoukai no Kanata and Railgun (Onee-sama). I would have dropped this show by now but Kyoto Animation is one of my favourite companies so I'll give this show a chance.

There isn't really much. Not enough to consider it part of the genre. Also to anyone who didn't know, the whole limbo scene is anime original, and Kyoani (for better or worse) has been adding fanservice.

And here I thought they had to because of LN.

I didn't find anything interesting within the first 10 minutes and the fanservice bothered me too much. Drop.

Good episode and I doubt the fanservice is going to be as heavy later, they should focus more on the story... unless KyoAni wants otherwise.

Also, the story actually seems interesting, unlike some LN adaptations.

I personally don't have much of an issue with it but I can see how some people could I guess.

looks pretty good so far. I liked the visuals at the start where the graphics of the world slowly improved. I liked the youkai stuff too. Especially haruhiko's questioning of the morality between humans and youkai. Could lead to some interesting developments down the road. I feel like Reina's introduction was a little rushed, I would have preferred if they spend this episode on world-building. Overall, good first impression though.

All I can say is that Mai girl is surprisingly nimble and that I like.
OP is really catchy. Listened to it a few times already.
The fan service with comedy was a nice touch.

The phantoms designs are kinda, eh. Then again no one is watching this for the phantoms. Aside from Ruru, perhaps?

Above average. Mostly for the music, animation and art design.
Will most likely continue watching for the lighthearted fan service and comedy.

i like it so far the fan service was kinda mild compared to what ive seen but i can understand why it would bother some. the brief fight scene was well animated im not really familiar with kyoani looks like they do mostly slice of life comedies so not sure if an action harem is unprecidented for them. will keep watching for sure.

Kyoani doesn't give a fuck what anyone says. They make what they want as evidenced with this.

This looks like a less pretentious Kyoukai no Kanata. Kyoani does best when they're doing things light and fun.
I wish Cowboy Bebop never existed.
