This is the Anime 2016 challenge, updated with (mostly) new challenges and ideas to make your 2016 a fun filled weaboo year. The 2016 Anime Challenge on AD is just rote and repetitive. In fact, it looks like it's just the same as last year! That's why my challenge is better, and you should let people know that. Nobody even finished your challenge last year. Why live? That's because you fuckers are all plebs and didn't commit yourself to channeling your true weaboo and nakama power. Can I read ATOTD the Anime and make it count as an entry? No. So who decides the list this year? Can I add stuff? If you want. Just remember last year, everybody added shit and no one finished. Do I win anything? Well, Mayuka yolo'd out of here, so we got no graphics, but it's not like they were an incentive last year anyway. So...probably no winnings. Anyway, now that we've gotten all your petty concerns out of the way, here is this year's challenge: List of challenges The first of these challenges require using http://graph.anime.plus/ ➤Find your least favorite genre using the anime graph, and then watch the highest rated (accordingly to MAL) anime of that genre. If you have already watched it, then proceed to your next least favorite genre until you find a highest rated anime that you have not watched from that genre ➤Watch the lowest rated anime from your favorite studio. If you have already watched the lowest rated anime, simply find the next lowest rated anime that you have not watched. ➤Watch an anime from the year where you have your highest mean score ➤Watch an anime from the year where you have your lowest mean score ➤Aim for a next achievement level on one of the achievements that you have made on the site The remaining challenges do not require the above link. ➤Watch a second season of any anime of your choice ➤Watch an anime with a main character that is not Japanese ➤Watch an anime with a main character that is relatively old (let us just say either 30 or older) ➤Rewatch an anime that you last watched at least one year ago ➤Watch an anime that was produced by a studio/company that has gone bankrupt ➤Watch an anime featured on a friend's avatar or profile picture (if you have no friends, now would be a good time to start) ➤Watch (or rewatch) an anime featured on this list*: ➤Watch an anime that aired before your date of birth ➤Pick a hobby or profession that you participate in and watch an anime that relates to said hobby or profession ➤Watch an anime where the parents of the main character are not dead or missing ➤Watch a magical girl anime that does not feature a wand or staff ➤Watch a sports anime where the sport is either your country's national sport or is a sport that your country is known for ➤Find one of your favorite voice actors and watch his or her first anime role (by airing date) ➤Watch an anime where their top and popularity ranking on MAL are at least 250 spots apart ➤Watch a mecha anime where the main character is already an established and experienced pilot ➤Watch an anime whose main subject is a distinctly Asian/Japanese aesthetic/game/sport (i.e. Chihayafuru/Karuta) ➤Watch an anime that aired in Spring of 2012, Summer of 2013, Fall of 2014, and Winter of 2015. If you have watched every anime in all of those seasons, simply choose a series of four anime that aired in the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Will add more if necessary. | Least favorite genre according to MALGraph is music (because of all those music videos) and that leads me to Shitgatsu so let me nope the fuck out of here :>. I've seen #2-#13 and #14 is Macross Do You Remember Love so I guess that's gonna be it. For the favorite studio Madhouse I'm not counting the CCS Movie so the next one I haven't seen is Saiunkoku Monogatari S2 at #36 but since I was planning to watch that franchise at some point anyway it'll do. The year with the highest score happens to be 1982 and I started Macross 2 days ago so that's a perfect fit. I have 3 years tied for lowest mean score, can I pick any of them or do I have to do all of them? Gonna take a look at possible candidates for the other categories at a later time (or possibly never if last year is any indication :>). |

| For the second season challenge, does it specifically have to be a second season (I'm 3 stages in Initial D for example, can I watch the fourth one and have it count)? Also, would you consider baseball to be a sport that Canadians are known for (they have one mlb team for reference)? Holy shit the achievements one is gonna be a "fun" time. Looks like I'm gonna have a lot of fun watching 25 or so romance anime this year. |
