I tried to watch Persona 3 movie 1 on my blu ray player. It would not work for some reason. I checked online and it said Japanese and American blu rays are the same region , thus why I was ok askimg a family member for it. The fact it won't work is beyond me. Do I need a certain blu ray player or will it not work in the blu ray player I have at all?

Pretty sure Japan and the US are the same region.

They should.

If it isn't working then it could have been imported to Japan from another region maybe?

You're sure you didn't buy a DVD OP?

Because American and Japanese Blu rays have the same region code but DVDs don't:

Depends on the region code of your Blulray player. As far as I know, the PS3 Bluray player is NOT region coded, so you should be able to play every BD disc.

Maybe go buy a region code free BD player?

That's very strange. I've never run into a problem like that. Maybe try a PS3 or something?

I heard that PS3s aren't region locked though.

OT: I never buy Blu-Rays so I don't know.
