The more money they make off of a series the more likely they are to make more content so even if the OVAs are shit you can still be happy that they exist. |

| Extra incentive to buy the DVDs. Although I do enjoy it when the OVAs are actually related to the plot, or have some significance in them. They're rare but I always enjoy them a lot more. |

| I usually don't bother with OVA's/specials. Only if the series is incomplete, and the OVA actually continues it to a degree. |

| FLCL exists because of the OVA format so im forever grateful But there's nothing wrong with either because they give the studio the ability too add more than what was in the show originally, expanding upon story or characters |

| Sometimes they are done well and give extra content that otherwise wouldn't fit in the story adapted or not, other times they are useless filler episodes with nothing worthwhile. |
