 The official Twitter account for Studio Deen's upcoming anime adaptation of Miyuki Abe's BL manga Super Lovers has announced that the TV series will be broadcast in Spring 2016. In addition to the premiere date, a key visual (pictured right) was revealed, and cast members were also announced.Cast Ren Kaidou: Junko Minagawa (Akatsuki no Yona) Haru Kaidou: Tomoaki Maeno (Amagami SS) Aki Kaidou: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (No Game No Life) Shima Kaidou: Takuma Terashima (Kokoro Connect) Ikuyoshi Sasaki: Ayumu Murase (Gatchaman Crowds) Junzen Kurosaki: Jun Fukushima (Yowamushi Pedal) The BL manga has been in serialization since 2009 and currently has eight volumes in print. | As a person, who follows the manga, I can assure you that there will be no indecent/sexual actions in the anime until the boy - Ren - reaches an acceptable/legal age. At the BEGINING of the story he is around 8 years old. Then there is - at least in the source material - some time skip. The romantic relationship progresses really slowly. So give it a chance. It's not a gay-loli/shotacon anime. See you pervs in april :'D |

| Well, I don't get the commotion in this thread to be honest. I could elaborate on the story to make it clear that there isn't anything 'criminal' to it. But I think this would be considered as spoilers. Let me just say that much: there is no romantic affection towards a child in this story. Haru (the older, blonde one) isn't sexually attracted to child Ren (dark haired) when they first met in Canada. THERE IS A TIME SKIP. At the point when 'brotherly love' SLOWLY turns into romantic love, Ren is around 16 years old (your typical shojo-mc age). And it is not as if the older brother raised his younger sibling as if he was his own child. There is no such implication. They eventually meet again (after some time) and this is when the main plot starts. So keep your cool. There is nothing to worry about. Personally I think Super Lovers is one of the few shounen-ai/yaoi series where sex/sexuality is a minor part of the overall story. It literally takes several volumes to get to the point where sexual things are implied. So I really would like to encourage you to at least give this show a chance. It has a lot of charming points and doesn't rely on sexuality as a device of story telling. |
