Do you mean art, smooth animation or both?
both!
Ok then.
The Mysterious Cities of Gold(the original series only. Yes, I'm actually mentioning a 1982 anime, why, It's very simple actually: It has byfar the best animation in the entire history of anime, and most of the art is really damn good too. The only exception is, the character art, It's so early 90s, western animation art, so yea the char art aged pretty badly, but everything else is golden) I have a actual Overview/review of this linked in my sig, that goes into great detail about the animation(lol in most of my reviews the animation is either not mentioned at all or I use just one word to describe such, but not with this anime, the animation is so beyond mind blowing, that it warranted quite a "huge" section in the review, devoted to just the animation alone.
Inuyasha+Inuyasha the Final Act(does this even need explaining, this anime set the benchmark on so many fronts, some of which will never be surpassed)
The Legend of Condor Hero(This is beautiful in so many ways, art is amazing, choreographed fights are the best, most realistic in all of anime, and the scene execution, with how the characters hold each other, and such. Japan really should be taking notes, because this is how you make a romance anime)
Kingdom(sigh a lot of people are going to disagree with me on this, well they aren't allowed to. The art is right up there with the best of the best out there, and the way the CG+traditional animation is mixed, is genus, it makes every epic scene, all the more epic. Oh boy does the animation in this deliver, it easily makes for the most epic scenes ever created)
Letter Bee(This is just all around great, it may look like a strange art choice if you're just looking at a still SS, but once you see the animation+more background art, it all fits perfectly in place. There isn't a better way to have pulled this off. They made a world with dark lighting, not feel like a darm/gloomy world, which is how it should be, based on the writing of this series, talk about nailing it) |
