| An online community is a bunch of individuals who gather constantly in the same site. It doesn't have to be a forum. It can be a chatroom or an online video game. |

| I actually think there is a difference. I think that an anime community has some sort of "thing" to it that bonds people and keeps them coming, based on something OTHER than the website content. I've been a part of a lot of forums, but I wouldn't really call them a community. I mean, this is of course just an opinion, but I base whether I'm in a "community" or not on whether I would miss the people if I never logged in again, or just miss the utility the site gives. I guess each member could have a different experience on a given forum. I think there's definitely a community here, but because of how passionate and volatile people get over others' opinions in anime, some may not agree based on their interactions. |
