There was a scene from Alice's final battle where you could see an "evil version" of Alice in a reflection.

EDIT: here it is:

Shit, that's a nice catch. Mother fucker looks evil. I bet that mother fucker backstabs somebody in the future, creepy bastard.

There was also a scene in Ep 3 where Alice briefly showed his malevolent side. It happened when Ikki and Alice were talking in the bathroom.

Hell yeah!!!! For a clichéd, common show. This anime broke everyone of my expectations. As a fan of the romantic action genre, Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry did for me what no other anime did this season. The ride was splendid, and I hope somewhere in the future there may be a sequel!!!

"Kissing 30 times a day, that's Vermillion rule!' What can I say, I love it.

Freaking loved it when Stella sent the old guy flying away, like she didn't give a damn to his existence lmao. Later, that proposal... epic. I loved how Ikki said it on a spur of moment, he had just completely lost trust in his father, and hence, was asking her to be his family. Stella took it in a "marriage" sense instead, and so did the crowd (you can't blame them, it really was worded that way) Loved how it was a little more complex than your average, cliche proposals.

The fight was a little cold, idk it could be longer? From another angle, it felt fitting. At first I felt really frustrated 'cause Ikki felt like all those shounen protagonists, his development disappearing.. then as I watched, I felt like it was okay, a good way to end the fight. That being said, Touka vs Shizuku was the best fight, as I simply loved how well-balanced it was and how it involved tactics.

Also liked how it was Shizuku who grabbed Ikki's hand when he was running. It's always nice to see everyone getting screentime with the MC, and not just the protagonist's lover.

Looking forward to festival matches if it ever gets S2! 8.5/10, solid show till the end!

I'm disappointed with the battle, I mean part of me understands the logic behind it but still... Everything else felt pretty well paced but it kinda left a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm glad Ikki broke the bullshit romance barriers so many anime insist on honoring. But for a series that made me watch it consistently for the sake of the action it's hard not to slump in my chair over the fight.

Didn't care for the annoying cock-block at the end of the episode.

Not the ending I was expecting to be, but they managed to 'patch' it all up nicely at the finale. Ikki is a great MC!

Now I'm expecting some more great fights in the next season like the 'Shizuku VS. Toka' one.
They raised the bar with that one fight and now I'm definitely not willing to lower it down. I'm expecting big things :)...

OVERALL: 7/10, glad I decided to watch this as at the beginning I was not very optimistic about this anime but it succeeded in surprising me. Not bad... Not bad at all...
If S2 eventually comes out, I'll be here to watch it most def ;)

I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode.

Hoping for a second season!

I gave this an 8/10, same as where i stand with Asterisk.
I wonder. I discarded Asterisk for I left it didn't have as much of an impact in terms of the characters, their development, their struggle and their interactions.
On those aspects Rakudai is A LOT better than Asterisk and it should be by all means better.By presentation, i mean it's got cleaner art, animation, backgrounds, atmosphere. It's more akiba-oriented. They ended up being made for totally different crowds despite initial similarities. Cavalry had a bit more of a western taste to it: grittier, full romantic relationship build up... Asterisk is a lot more light and fluffy with touchey feely effeminate plots and gentle personalities, it's more oriented to the kinds of people who like colourful cutesy archetypal stuff. It's actually weird how different they can be despite how many parallelisms they had. Asterisk had hype, budget and pre-fame, it's also been around longer. Did i mention Asterisk is cuter (motto kawaii)?

Also, i have a strong feeling that these two series were aired together in order to create conversation and competition.

You must be ignorant of all things not current. In all of history, and actually in nature too, it's weird to pair up so late in life like we do today. Too many worldly (and therefore emotional) problems now. Purer people be totally ready to propose at that age.

PS: for anyone talking about the final match: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SingleStrokeBattle you can go down to the bottom and look at Real Life examples if you want.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Flynning this is what we see on tv all the time. very unrealistic.
[/quote]

Wasn't that a very older quote though? I'm positive I said I abandoned Asterisk since it wasn't growing on too much development or conflict for me.

The last episode was better than i expected. But overall thoughts are that manga is much better especially because of graphics. Maybe it's just me but i really think that manga artstyle for this series is much better than anime and that's why it's quite sad.
Plus obv. they skipped some stuff cause of 12-episode limit; LN-readers will say that in LN is much more, but i don't want to read it and i think a lot of us here for animation including myself :)
Gave it 6/10 for aforementioned reasons.

This one actually took me by surprise. The premise isn't something that hasn't been done before nor are there any basic plot points which are unique per se. Where this one shows its true color is in its execution and the adorable development in relationship between the main characters which is very refreshing given the usual harem route similar stories tend to take during this juncture.Hoping this one gets a second season.

Awesome end to the series, got a bit teary-eyed when Ikki saw all his supporters waiting for him outside the school :) The proposal was icing on the cake, nice to finally see a relationship make progress in a short period of time.

Favorite show of the season. Like others, I hope there'll be a second one in the future.

I'll give it a 9/10 it was a breathe of fresh air compared to so many other series of it's type. I love how it still managed to be unique minus the overused character type and setting.

Hopefully this manages to get a second season.

I agree. There are a million animes with exactly this kind of setting, but this one was actually good and the finale actually WAS a finale with couple of conclusions on various ends, which basically never happens with other series of this sort.

The final fight was of course, very short, which was kinda disappointing, but then again, given Ikki's fighting style, it only makes sense. Also, the whole color changing effect looked awesome, imo, and the whole build-up, both on Ikki's and Todo's side, felt really intense. Really liked it. I hope the series gets the praise it deserves!

Actualy to me both Asteriks and Cavalry were just time-killer animes. First i used to forget which one is which. I enjoyed both but to me having Stella was just + for this anime. In Asteriks there is one girls just typical tsundere. And art is still better than Asteriks.

This scene was enough for me t.o give 8 to this anime

I hope season 2 will come

Am I the only one who busted out laughing when mr penguin over there tried to take down Ikki with that axe? It just felt so ridiculous and out of place. Other than that this episode would have been perfect.

The only true uniqueness I can give this is how well the romance progression is for a battle academy LN.

A solid 8/10 series. Wouldn't mind a second season.

Lmfao Stella bitchslapping Jabba the Hut was glorious. The proposal and kiss was just so unbelievably sweet and arguably one of the most romantic things I can remember in a romance anime.

The fight was like watching a UFC match, yeezus. In a way it was epic, but in another way it was disappointing. The monologuing felt more cheesy than powerful to me.

The subs remain trash from the first episode to the last. Fantastic.

Rakudai Kishi has a lot of interesting elements and a unique presentation that by all rights should make me love it, but for some reason its kind of failed to connect with me over these last number of episodes, and I'm getting the idea now that it's too shallow. It presents itself as a mature show but is disappointingly superficial. If any of these elements were fleshed out more or presented with more depth, it probably would've been something special.

Despite this (admittedly large) complaint, I like almost everything else about it (especially the ecchi; holy smokes that end card), and I feel really disappointed it stopped connecting with me much after the end of Ayatsuji's arc.

Maybe I should add this to the list of LNs I want to read (but probably never will), because I get the feeling the source probably nailed it better than this.

Surprisingly decent for a light novel adaptation. More so than the action, I just liked Stella and Ikki's relationship. Stella was a good character, and I liked how honest she was with things.

Would love to get a gif of Stella smacking that fat bastard to kingdom come.

That last battle certainly wasn't what I was expecting. A bit disappointed that it wasn't as epic as Shizuku vs Toka, but I guess it goes to show just how insane Itto Shura can be. That proposal at the end of it though, pure gold. When Ikki kept prattling on about wanting to tell her something important I was jokingly thinking about that possibility but still caught me off guard when it actually turned out to be that. Glad Stella's dad seems pretty chill, finally getting the Kurogane's to hop off Ikki for the time being.

Well when I picked this up, one thought was running through my mind: seen this before. The premise reminded me of some harem shows I've seen prior (Machine-Doll, Seirei Tsukai) and the first episode was like their spitting image. I wasn't necessarily complaining, but I really wasn't expecting more than mild harem fun. Phew hew hew, boy am I glad I was mistaken once it got into the thick of things. The romance was adorable, I actually liked Ikki a great deal, and the cast was surprisingly rich, most particularly Shizuku and Alice. With Shizuku, I like how they took the typical brocon thing and added many more layers of affection to it. And then Alice, that's effeminate done right. He wasn't a freak and I'm glad they didn't reduce him to some exaggerated caricature. I'm rooting for him to capture Shizuku's heart.

When they said "Seven Star Festival", I assumed there would be seven representatives. Those two girls who made it reminded me of the mechanics from Sky Girls. A second season is well deserved, although in the event that it doesn't happen I think this is a satisfying way to wrap up. Ikki has gone from worst one to best one and is recognized by his school for it.

8/10, I don't want to unfairly cast judgment on it but I'm glad I chose this over Asterisk.
