Hi everyone. Now, we all know that One Punch Man is supposed to be a parody of other shonens, in which the main character is usually weak and then becomes the strongest as the manga goes on. One Punch Man is a parody, though: the main character starts out as by far the strongest. So it isn't a real shonen/seinen/whatever manga, it's really mainly a parody and a comedy.

But what if the author decided to take this parody even further? What if the premise of the entire manga, that Saitama is the strongest, was a joke as well? This doesn't seem impossible given that this is supposed to be a comedy manga. This would be one of the most interesting and groundbreaking revelations in manga history. What if Saitama was just a normal everyday guy whose opponents felt sorry for him and let him win every time?

I actually have proof for this assertion. One of the strangest parts in One Punch Man is when the world's supposedly "strongest man" Saitama can't even kill a mosquito. No matter how hard he tries, he catches the mosquito in between the world's strongest hands and he fails to kill a goddamn mosquito. How sad is that? How can the world's strongest man fail to kill a mosquito with his bare hands? Even I can do that, in fact I just did it earlier today. This man who supposedly defeated all these powerful bosses and villains can't even kill a mosquito? There's something fishy here and you know it.

This is the author's way of giving us a message. Saitama is too weak to kill even a mosquito; if he can't kill a mosquito but he can kill the strongest guys in the world, that's just a logical contradiction. Therefore, since it's a contradiction, he must be unable to kill the strongest guys in the world.

All of the bad guys in the manga just let him win. That's right: when they see Saitama's pathetic bald appearance with his ridiculous looking outfit, they feel bad for him and let him win. For example, when he killed Vaccine Man in the first episode, Vaccine Man had a major internal laugh at Saitama's appearance and exploded himself the moment Saitama punched him because he felt bad at Saitama's weakness. All of Saitama's battles in the manga have turned out this way, as well.

What do you guys think?

It Is Chuck Norris, who make a time stop, and hit a villain. After that, Krauser-san is making his 10 rape in a second, and time will flows again. And after that La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo is made everyone believed that Saitama is defeated a villain. Remember this NEET in 9 episode? He might actually knows something.

once you see saitama vs boros. your whole theory of saitama would go down the drain, but nice theory for someone who hasn't read the manga.

Hmmm...

The Titan man who was pissed with Saitama for "killing his brother" let him win despite blame him of killing his loved brother?

Carnage Kabuto, who even use his strongest form to fight Saitama after being scared by his mere presence, decided to rip himself to pieces just because he felt pity for Saitama?

The meteorite, an inanimate thing, felt pity for Saitama?

The Titan man obviously hated his brother for giving him telekinesis since he wanted strength, hence why Saitama "jumped" so high.
Carnage Kabuto killed himself because he hated himself for being so stupid in thinking that Saitama was so strong
That meteorite was probably just sentient

Some examples that against that theory are:

First, the genos vs saitama sparring fight, genos know how strong saitama is, he didn't see saitama as weakling, he get himself owned hard by saitama.

Second,

So I guess there are no really deep mystery in how saitama become the strongest other than because it's just the author wanted to make him like that in the first place. Same goes for the mosquito, just for comical effect.
People say that you have to solve your problem instead of running away from it, but isn't trying to solve the problem also means that you wanted to run away from the problem?

lol sentient meteorite. XD

Did the examiners at the hero center also feel so much sympathy they faked his results and created holes in the floor /ceiling, broke a punching machine , etc, and somehow all the other competitors collaborated out of sheer pity?

Sonic intentionally hitting Saitama's fist with his balls?

Hammerhead? power suit breaking apart with perfect timing when punched?

It's interesting but there's too many holes lol.

Everyone was high on some gaseous narcotic so they just thought that Saitama was being superhuman when there was nothing happening at all
Sonic was trying hard not to bust out laughing, so it was still an accident when he unintentionally nailed himself against Saitama's fist
Hammerhead just felt so sorry that he decided to self destruct his own suit when he felt how weak Saitama's punch was

In my opinion, the real way to take this one step further is that Saitama actually becomes a complete weakling in the finale of the manga.

This easy answer for you.
Saitama only broke the limit in his body. You have read manga ONE(raw version).
Unlike the other protagonists, like Goku, Naruto, Luffy, etc...
They are still developing phase / practice. Like Garau changing and evolving (Saitama vs Garau in ONE).
~Saitama've finished practicing.

It explains all of his exercises.
1. Push-ups = Unlimited Power (like most fighters without weapons, arms are the main weapon. this is why title One Punch Man).

2. Sit-ups = Unlimited Defense (increases endurance to unlimited, but his body moveable. as we can not destroy the gravel with our hands, but we can throw it. he was thrown to the moon).

3. Squats = Super Speed (leg strength training. can make shadows like koro-sensei. while Genos vs Sonic).

4. Running 10 km = Unlimited Durability (unlike the other protagonists overwhelmed).

5. Last, didn't use the AC in summer & heating in winter = To strengthen his mental and mind resistance (Tatsumaki cannot lift it up Saitama with psychic powers. while Saitama fight Tatsumaki in ONE).
I beat, Saitama anti ninjutsu, code geass, psychic, hypnotic, etc...
In universe OPM, a person can grow and change like Garau.

Except mosquitoes, it's just a joke from the Author to bring Saitama with Genos.

this is hilarious

the titan guy had a sudden head tilt so strong he tossed himself over an other city
the beetle guy had an other fatal internal laugh and exploded himself
sonic gets distracted everytime by saitama's appearance he doesn't realize he's slowing down

Or, because it is a God damned comedy, logic is irrelevant for some of the jokes; as such the author made him unable to kill a mosquito. Maybe, just maybe, the strongest man in the universe losing his shit over a mosquito is funny.

If he was so weak he couldn't crush a mosquito, he wouldn't even be alive to begin with.

The rocks behind Genos at the end of their spar too? Saitama's super speed is actually just the earth producing a special kind of side-ways gravity just to make Saitama seem faster?

OK, I'll take the obvious bait.

As you say, OPM is a parody, a comedy.

The world's strongest man getting pissed at a mosquito and being unable to kill it with all his superspeed is funny.

Comedy: funny >> consistency.

End of story.
