He really doesn't lmao, listen to Kiba and then Renton from Eureka Seven, the difference between Johnny as a loner wolf and as a plucky 14 year old boy is definitely there. Just because he's immediately recognisable in all of his roles doesn't mean he doesn't portray the right mood/emotions. |

| I think the dub sounds really good, though i do feel like some subtlety is lost with mika, dont get me wrong mika while calm and collected did emote quite a lot even if subdued, but the english guy while doing a fine job in a general sense feels like hes emoting a bit too much in those moments where mika does get a bit more into it. like when he was telling kudelia off in episode 2 about the casualties felt more dramatized than in the original. then again this could also be a strong example of just it being in my native language as apposed to the japanese track where pronunciation differentiate alot. i do also agree that orga is a bit unfitting, jyb does a fine job but he just is too recognizable and doesnt really fit the character that much. Everyone else sounds fine, atra's voice actress is surprisingly really fitting and easy on the ears, usually in dubs when they get someone to do a cutsy voice its really grating but the girl in the dub has a naturally adolescent voice that works really well. |
