Fangirls do match clothes.
Lindo's hair can grow a little from one side or my eyes playing tricks again?
I used to think Roen the one sending random students to Ritsuka but it's Shiki?
But something is missing. I need to hear that high-pitched yap.
I'm missing the pomeranian already. He got the cutest voice because Yamamoto ♥

Love each other?! Bitch, you two hardly know each other. This Rem guy's not only got the personality of a goddamn shoe but he ain't shown no interest in you, he's not kind to you, he's literally a liar after your grimoire. Besides, they have ZERO CHEMISTRY. All they do is stare awkwardly at each other like some Twilight level shit, though that's mostly because they forgot to give Rem any real personality traits so staring is all he's good for.
This is pretty much what I feel about Rem and Ritsuka as well.

WOW, really wasn't expecting such a positive response haha--definitely thought I was in the minority. Glad to help, mina-san! :D
Some other random things I've been pondering regarding Rem for anyone interested (Under the spoiler for length):
--Is Rem seriously the only male character that hasn't hurt her/ kidnapped her/ made comments about killing or breaking her? Just confirming. After all there are quite a few vampires and devils running about it's hard to keep track xD If that's the case that's another important thing to consider when trying to understand Ritsuka's state of mind.
--In Hong Kong (that's where Mage took her, right?) Ritsuka asked Rem whether he was only glad she was safe because she was supposed to be the key to the grimoire and followed up by asking him whether he was was a devil. In that moment she had never seen him in the act, and there was no actual proof that he had any kind of devil powers beyond what her brother told her. Mega-money is almost like magic, he could've lied and said any number of things to justify how he knew where to get her and all that. Maybe it's just the writing but I find it really hard to believe Mr. Strategy "Checkmate-is-my-actual-non-ironic-catchphrase" Arlond actually thought he responded in a way that would get him closer to his ultimate goal. Perhaps he was just cutting his losses...or maybe it's just becoming more difficult for him to lie to Ritsuka so he'd rather act cold and aloof than admit his growing feelings. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
PLUS stopping more than one of the guys in his clique from convincing her to remove her pendant and later the ring (Urie and the butterflies & Loewen/Roen whatever) when that would make her more compliant, doesn't make sense. The fact he never even tries to do the same just doesn't make sense-- if you are a devil and really need the girl to spill the beans and hand over the ultimate weapon so you aren't killed by daddy dearest, you use whatever means you can. Something tells me he likes Ritsuka better when she's able to speak her mind and follow her heart ;)
--Last thought, and this is wild mad guessing territory here:
There have been a bunch of "happy birthday Rem" promotional things going around Tumblr and beyond to celebrate the (very much fictional) Rem's birthday, complete with cake and a stuffed demonic pomeranian.
Now, hear me out here, maybe it's common to hold birthday celebrations of anime characters to boost promotion and whatnot but I'm thinking the birth date is pretty significant. Rem's birthday's on 11/17, making him a scorpio sign. At the beginning of the series Ritsuka is in class listening to her professor talk about Night on the Galactic Railroad/Milky Way Railroad (super famous Japanese children's story, there's an anime with cats in it from the 1980's and a few English translations out there, played a big role in Mawaru Penguindrum as well)
At one point the characters are discussing the story of a scorpion who sacrifices itself (here's a clip of the scene from the English dub https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvcRF-6Eh0A , the full sub of the movie can also be found on youtube)
Essentially the scorpion realizes its selfish ways and on the brink of death asks God to not let them waste their next life. They beg God for the opportunity to do better and use their next life to bring happiness to the world rather than suffering. God hears the scorpion's plea and suddenly it burst into flames (what's this? Flames? another parallel?) and through the light of its burning body lit up the sky forever (a version of the legend behind the Scorpio constellation.) Later on the characters discuss how they also want to use their lives to bring happiness to the world for the greater good. (I'm paraphrasing here, all of you should give it a chance it's one of my favorites.)
Are the creators trying to foreshadow some sort of sacrifice on Ritsuka or Rem's part for the happiness of others? We've already seen Ritsuka doesn't really give a damn about the grimoire if that means her family and loved ones are safe, and the only thing holding her back is the fact she could die if it's removed. Soon enough we're going to see how Azuna's death affects her. I refuse to believe out of all the stories they could've used to pass time in that class, and out of all of the vignettes in Night on the Galactic Railroad, that the wrtiers included the one about the scorpion (from a very well known Japanese story) randomly. Plus we've got that creepy gothic opening scene too. Someone's getting sacrificed by episode 12 I can feel it.
Of course I may just be over reading all of this, we'll see later today I suppose :) Also I realllllyyyy want to see the past of all the devils/fallen angel if possible, how they met and got to be who they are (is an OVA of how the hell they got elected to the student council too much to ask?) We've seen chibi Ritsuka and Lindo, just imagine chibi Mage!! I can't. If Diabolik Lovers is any indication, Rejet isn't opposed to showing and diving into tragic backstories, plus I think it would help us better understand a few of the leads.
Also as another side note, given some of the other reverse harem animes I've seen (not talking about mangas or games because I know there are quite a few where the outcome is clear) I welcome some sort of definitive "the heroine likes this person and they like her back"conclusion rather than an unequal dynamic where the relationships don't really go anywhere and she still has 7 guys and a guinea pig drooling after her and there's no sense of closure. If this is the only season we're going to get of DwD and these two dorks can overcome their issues and still care for one another then once again I'm ok with Rem x Ritsuka. (and another duet ;D )
