This is getting overwhelmingly intense. We had yet another instance of our amazing fighters, especially in the case of Sanji, but also a manly Usopp, getting absolutely floored. And, the scene ended so miserable. With Robin willingly leaving as Sanji and Usopp get tempest kicked open and finger pistoled many times over. They lost their battle and their girl they were fighting for. I must say about Blueno, he’s pretty awesome. I love how his door door fruit can use the air as a surface to enter other rooms that are connected by the same air flow. This also explains why he had to use the wall to get to Iceberg. The creaky air door opening is so frightening compared to a generic teleport!
We finally got some serious Nico Robin information! Her entire homeland was burnt to the ground without a trace due to a buster call. She’s the only survivor out of all of her people which would explain why no one else can read the poneglyphs. It also explains just how traumatizing it was for her. Her entire homeland was wiped out, possibly because of her, of course she doesn’t want to subject her nakama to that no matter what. It explains why she tried not to get close to people all these years ever since she first escaped on a deeper level than we knew before. Water 7 is finally the arc where we get to understand Robin.
When Sanji learned this and cursed Blueno out it was a reminder that just maybe some CP9 members could switch sides. Blueno holds this the end justifies the means mentality as the others do, this is all for justice, but he did say the line that he deeply sympathizes with her. Is he does, all that matters is his ideology that what he’s doing is for justice has to be altered. Possibly even in a small way.
Yokozuna shows themself to be yet another god tier animal in the One Piece series, and he totally made me tear up. Not stopping Tom and having Franky almost lose his life to the train made them feel weak and scared they wouldn’t be able to protect their loved ones once more. So he trained for the next time they were at risk and the day has finally come. I’m curious how they’re going to come into play.
Tom is alive! Something I had speculated much earlier since we never actually saw him die unlike some of the others where we saw Bellemere or Hiriluk die, or we saw Zoro’s girl’s funeral. And for some reason Robin knows it and confirms it, or at least brings it up, I suppose she could be wrong.
I also teared up when Franky told Robin the amazing first hand advice he got from Tom. What Tom wanted him to never forget was no matter how people used what he made he was not the one to blame. He didn’t want other people to be able to coin him or his ships as a sin, and likewise he does not want anyone other than Robin to call her existence a mistake or an evil. It doesn’t matter what they say, so go back to the Straw Hats girl and don’t let other people choose your fate for you. As nice as that is to say, she does have a traumatic history that’s pretty forgivable for not really thinking this way. It’s still inherently important for her to understand and it did get to her. SHE is not hurting the Straw Hats herself in anyway apart from leaving them behind. If anyone’s hurting them is her by leaving or the government by being evil jerks.
And the stakes are officially higher than ever. With the absolute miserable loss of Sanji and Sogeking and Franky, Robin and Franky were taken to Enies Lobby. There’s no longer anyway to save them on the train from just CP9. Now our gang will have to do a full scale attack on the government. Anyone without a bounty is getting one now. And, that is if they get out alive. This is seriously some of the highest stakes that we’ve had yet and I’m nervous. It should be as awesome as it is scary. But, I suppose with no way to turn around, the Rocket Man was going to head there whether or not they got to the train before then. …Unless they took control of the puffing Tom and turned it around, but the what if’s are over now, now it’s a battle to the end with Enies Lobby… |
