representational art: represents actual objects or subjects from reality
abstract art: takes subjects from reality but presents them in way that is different from the way they are viewed in our reality
*according to google

so mal, which art form do you prefer? if you do happen to be an artist, what kind of art do you usually create?
and feel free to discuss your favorite painters/paintings.

there's also supposedly a link between your personality and the type of art you enjoy, so if you do happen to know your mbti personality type, post that as well so we can see if there is some sort of link.

discuss.

abstract art

Abstract because if you just want realism you could just take a photo. Abstract shows the insides of someones mind more.

Representation art values order. Abstraction art values chaos and conflict

Not true. Just look at cubism for example.

Abstract because the interpretation differs person by person.

Abstract art. Not for interpretation, not for anything else but simply for the fact that I get to see what I don't usually see.

By each let this be heard,
Some do it with a bitter look,
Some with a flattering word,
The coward does it with a kiss,
The brave man with a sword!''

You posted the most boring kinds of representational art omg. I like looking at abstract art more, but I prefer drawing representational art -- only of people though. I can't stand drawing inanimate objects, it's so BORING. and I'm too lazy to draw animals lmao (all that fur man...)

Representational I'd say.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.

OT: I have no preference. In both I value originality more.
Ideas, details and things related to them grab my attention.
