Rather slow week this week. Lowest cut-off I've seen in a while.

Fab to see Mahouka selling extremely well even in manga form. Baby Steps hanging in there with great sales. Anime did it's job well.

whats important is the cumulative sales (or total sales so far) and its 603,842 for OPM this week, that makes it like part of the top 5 in total sales

still i like to see OPM have a sales boost to 1 million sales per volume, so that a season 2 of the anime is not impossible to happen

The thing to remember about OPM is it doesn't have that many volumes out right now. However, I think all of them are in the top 100, though only one or two of its volumes end up in the top 50 for the week. Still, it's getting solid backlog sales, though nowhere near the industry crushing sales some had hoped for. I love the series and at the very least the anime is doing the series justice.

The important number is actually the total volume sales of the week, which is 137,570, which is 3rd place this week. There's a definite boost, but nothing crazy.

Still waiting for Kingdom season 3.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

http://www.classzone.com/books/lnetwork_gr08/page_build.cfm?content=analyz_media&ch=30

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

That's highly unlikely because Kingdom while it sells decently it doesn't sell enough to warrant a reboot.

It's good but it doesn't warrant for a reboot. You know what I mean, you have to sell more than that to get a reboot.

If Kingdom can get the sales its gotten off a simple talk show, imagine the sales it could get if it got an anime that's been given some actual TLC and directors who are actually competent. Hell, the most recent volume, the one that came out a couple weeks ago, had to get a reprint.

Obviously this year could just be lightning in a bottle, but it's always sold decently, and I don't think its fanbase is close to saturate.d Also, we have no idea the kind of sales it's getting when it comes to digital sales, and my understanding is Kingdom's digital volumes are some of the highest.

Maybe you're right in that it doesn't have enough sales now, but it's been stated already that Kingdom's only around its halfway point, meaning 10+ more years of the manga, meaning there's plenty of time and opportunity to have a reboot, even if it's 6 or 7 years from now, and it's definitely been growing in popularity.

At the very least, it deserves a 3rd season, even if it's from the same team that made the mediocre first two seasons.

I'd say it's been quite good so far. Weekly sales aren't exactly stellar, but the boost's been very consistent and after 4 weeks the total backlog sales are about 520k. I expect it to maintain this sort of weekly sales for the whole anime run which I assume will lead OPM to reach 800k per volume and basically put it on Tokyou Ghoul's level. We'll find out for sure in December when volume 10 goes on sale.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:

3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?

5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Yay for the Toaru spin off manga series! Hope we'll get that inevitable Accelerator anime adaption soon. XD Great seeing One Piece in top 10 still. I wonder if this one could reach 3mil sales before leaving the list.. doesn't seem very probably but hey, one can still dream, right?

Cuticle Tantei Inaba is such an underrated anime series, wish it could get a second season, tho pretty unlikely. Goat Don Valentino, literally!

So we find out October's total sales next week, which will give us a better idea of where 3-5 stand, as they all have missing data. It's an incredibly exciting race. We'll have to see how far ahead SnK is, if AC or Kingdom even have a chance. Kingdom's backlog boost is still going on, and probably has about 100k in missing sales from a couple weeks ago, will it have enough steam to surpass SnK? And AC has been off the list for a while now, does it have enough missing sales data to push it to the top? We probably won't know until the actual sales figures come out for the end of the year, but speculation should be easier after next week.

Actually, now that I look at it, I think SnK's confirmed #3, as it has at least 288k missing sales, and the chart hasn't been updated since the end of September. So SnK will likely be at just above 8.5 million in sales.

Look at that boost for Aoharu x Kikanjuu:
Volume 6: Failed to chart, sold less than 22,971 copies. (3 days) 128th place on shoseki first week, 114th place on shoseki second week
Volume 7: 11,030 (2 days) 35,321 (9 days) 153th place on shoseki first week
Volume 8: 54,545 (6 days)

Volume 8 actually ranked and it sold more than 50k copies! The anime has done its job.

It seems to be lower than NNT/Haikyuu/TG's boost but that might be because it was already more popular than those three titles.

Shingeki's legs are crazy. About 300k in a month where it almost never charted in the weekly top 50 list.

I think it's still close actually. If Kingdom has 100k of unaccounted sales, then it just needs 300k more to reach 8.5 million and it's got 2 weeks to do that. Also, for all we know AssClass could have 500k of missing sales and that would put it in the same range as the other 2. Still, if I were to guess at this point I'd say SnK, too. Next week with all the October numbers we'll get a better picture.

If you mean offended by him liking Tokyo Ghoul and the newbie editing then yes

Other than that no I don't think so, it was just my PMS kicking in and I actually like OreMono

In fact I'm glad he's helping Ove becoming famous outside of Sweden

For a second, I thought I was in the Light novel thread given that Mahouka and Toaru are better known as light novels.

So are the chances of Bleach being #1 next week still looking good?

No...
My Hero Academia supposedly outsold it in their first day.

Either the anime annoucement generated enough hype for people to actually rush and buy the volume earlier than they normally would (which means that this volume might be very frontloaded allowing Bleach to outsell it in the subsequent days and the week overall), or. . . BnHA is really more popular than Bleach as of now. The latter would be both surprising (it was expected to eventually happen, but not this early) and hilarious. I mean, for the first time in three years, Bleach actually has a shot a t #1, yet it might be beaten by a rookie. I think we should put Ichii_ under careful monitoring or else he might do something nasty :o
With that being said, Shoseki isn't 100% accurate, they also predicted last month that Haikyuu will outsell AssClass and that wasn't the case (though to be fair, the difference in sales between the two was rather minimal, relatively speaking).

Talking about Shoseki,

One-Punch Man's volumes have been really high this week. The threshold this week is probably abysmal but still, to invade the Top 20-30 like that (a volume even managed to reach rank #14) probably means that it's boost this week will be bigger than the previous week's boost. That'll be interesting to follow if so. Also, volume 4 has been selling more than vol.1 and even vol.9 lately, I wonder why.

Really impressive for a first volume, gotta keep an eye on it.

26. *27,354 *,111,538 Angel Heart 2nd Season Vol.12
Haha, this is a thing? I remember being thoroughly disappointed by this alternate universe or whatever it is (the anime verson) since it lacked everything that made City Hunter so enjoyable imo. Why did it suddenly show up on the list now though? It wasn't there last week so was there a related event/announcement? This reminds that an OVA of City Hunter (the original) was supposed to be released this year, I absolutely have to watch it.

Ten Count is doing amazing! Ah, I seriously wish it would just get an anime already damn it.

Other than that, happy for the other BL titles and always happy to see OPM and Haikyuu!! doing well.

OPM boost worst than I thought.

Worse than Prison School atm if my eyes don't deceive me, which is surprising really. Didn't expect something like Prison School to get such a big boost.
