After all, it's very expensive to make at least a decent 12 episode anime and I am not sure some Light Novel sales can cover for that. Although there is stuff to be gained from an anime like boosting the other mediums sales, an anime's primary purpose is to make enough profit by itself. And I don't think Rakudai fails there. |

Highschool dxd, Sekirei, Freezing are just simple examples of harem/ecchi/fighting anime getting a second season (in HS dxd case 3rd). Of course there are examples like Highschool of the Dead where the creator died and the second season is cancelled but I don't see that happening with Riku Misora at least but I don't see that happening, It's just that his latest anime Choujin Koukousei-tachi wa Isekai demo Yoyuu de Ikinuku you desu! is getting a lot of positive response and he might want to continue along this manga. Not to mention OVA to boost BR sale and uncensored version which helps alot. This one isn't and it's half assed ecchi. Freezing and Sekirei is old one, see the airing years and they're Manga adaptation not LN, the Manga adaptation mainly profit on the Manga itself not the Blue-ray for something similar like BnHA, Naruto. They're also Ecchi type of anime, means BR version offers the uncensored type though it lacks ova as an offering. I'll tell you something that LN adaptation rarely get a sequel, I could make a list of shit i watch but never get a sequel and most of them came from LN with the genre during it was trending A.K.A harem,ecchi,school magic,and soon isekai. |
