Woww, Isn't Furi Fura overrated? I mean it's not THAT good of a series, It's a really 'normal' shoujo manga. I guess it's not because the manga is good that it has high sales but, because it's 'Sakisaka Io's manga' that it has high sales from its 1st volume.

+1
That's true.

Yes, One Piece is first.

Good to see Ore Monogatari pretty high as well.

After about three weeks:

*3. 260,592 2,656,714 One Piece Vol.76 (16 days)
*6. 199,227 2,497,878 One Piece Vol.77 (17 days)
*2. 198,95 2,480,428 One Piece Vol.78 (17 days)
*1. 252,791 2,529,273 One Piece Vol.79 (16 days)

Volume 79 really can't catch up to 76, but at least it's selling better than the previous two in a similar number of days.

Now onto anime boosts. Comparing One Punch Man to the other notable anime boosts of the decade (manga related) after two weeks of the anime's debut:

16. *51,474 *,527,573 Nanatsu no Taizai Vol.1
17, *41,871 1,164,735 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.1
19, *33,996 261,777 Magi Vol.1
34. *30,074 *,506,733 Arslan Senki Vol.1
42. *20,706 *,399,718 Tokyo Ghoul Vol.1
46. *20,023 *,455,024 Haikyuu!! Vol.1
41. *18,941 *,863,051 One Punch-Man Vol.1

OPM vol.1 sold more than last week but its boost is still slightly inferior to that of HQ and TG, and a lot lower than those of AS, Magi, SNK and NNT. But on the other hand it has already sold a lot more than all of them overall except Kyojin so it has less potential for expansion a priori. Let's see whether its boost will be frontloaded like Magi, Arslan Senki and NNT or leggy like SNK/HQ/TG

Among other notable bootsts, there's also Ao no Exorcist and Kuroko no Basket which received pretty hefty ones but the threshold back then was very high because it was a Top 30. They did appear on the list however:

15, *39,837 *,349,213 Ao no Exorcist vol.1 ( after 6 weeks)
43, *16,906 *,500,417 Kuroko no Basket, Vol. 1 ( after 15 weeks, right when the Top 30 was changed into a Top 50)

And there's also AssClass which had a moderate boost (some of which might be attributed to the movie) which only showed up on the list after 10 weeks:

33. *22,224 1,329,127 Ansatsu Kyoushitsu Vol.1

That's possibly because it was already very popular beforehand, even moreso than OPM.

Then you have Uchuu Kyoudai, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun, Hoozuki no Reitetsu, Owari no Seraph etc which only made the list like once or twice.

Thanks for the informative post Agafin.
Looking at the comparisons with others, it doesn't seem like OPM is setting the charts on fire like I was hoping for and while it is a bit premature for a final verdict, backlog sales may already be slowing down (unless the threshold raised and the drop in rankings doesn't equal a decrease in sales). Still hoping for some good legs down the line...
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Great to see Chihayafuru and Magi :3 Shokugeki still hanging there good good.

Also I don't think season 2 will help boost the NNT sales that much.

Another boost would be awesome, but it's not like NNT needs it at all. It's doing perfectly fine.

The weekly manga series sales I post here are based on the "Summation of all volume sales for a particular series within the weekly Top 500 Manga volumes list". We don't have access to sales figures outside the Top 50 though, unless you have a subscription to the much more expensive Oricon Biz.

Oricon Biz is where the Top 100 BD sales on Thursday night/Friday morning comes from by the way, and we are lucky for someone nice enough to post them for us at urisure. I assume there are different subscription packages on Oricon Biz, which is why there isn't anyone posting the Top 100 manga volumes anymore (someone was doing this back in 2008 on 2ch, but stopped).

Vol.17 sold 248,205 in 3 days, but its overall series sales for 7 days is 302,320. This means that Vol.1~16 sold a combined 54,115 copies over 7 days. This is what we call "backlog sales".

Ejc, do you know about this site: http://www.geocities.jp/jump_manga/jump5.htm ??
That site provide a complete list of Shonen Jump manga series sales/ volume since 2008.
That site update sales even faster than oricon youtaijou.
The sales for the 4th week is added already.
