THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
-That was perhaps one of the best, most heartfelt Madao episodes that I've ever seen in Gintama. I really get depressed with Hasegawa-san episodes because you know he's going to get screwed by the end.

-Oh yeah, Naruto played the Daigorou kid today. I wasn't sure that it was him until he started screaming and I then I was like "now just add a -dattebayo."

-The ending sting that showed that it had been written by his mom was the best.

Totally agree. I loved this episode, just because it shows the seldom seen sentimental side of Gintama.

It's actually one of the Madao episodes that I actually liked. :)
My brain: Yorozuya Gin-chan -> Yozakura Quartet = Yorozuya Quartet (this is how much Gintama has affected me).

That was Naruto's voice? Wow. I recognized the voice when it was in an episode of Major, but not this time. Good. (I hate her voice normally)

I, too, enjoyed this episode. It was a pleasant surprise because I wasn't expected to enjoy it at all from the preview last week.

Normally those Madao-episodes are totally depressing, but this one even had a happy ending with Daigoro's family being reunited.

I liked the summer research setting - it allowed for humour.

First parts was really funny with the comments of the kid's teacher XD

Then a very touching one from Madao which was really sad and was all good at the end. Then the credits will just make you ROFL again XD

I find this part in the manga funnier though...

One of the best one episode story ever. I thought it wasn't going to be that good because of the beginningl, but it was just awesome. It was hilarious yet very heart warming. WHOO Naruto in Gintama, that's just plain awesome XD

Good ep as expected, the story was made cleverly with all the tsukkomi by the teacher in the first half but then letting the story flow in the second half. When Gintama ends I hope Madao finishes with a good life, he's just too nice when it matters.

I'm liking the ep lineup lately, nother tearjerker/warm story next week!!!

I was telling my friend how sad this episode of Gintama was and how it was making me really teary, but just after that the ending came up and it had me laughing so hard I forgot why I was so sad before. I forgot how good Gintama is at pulling off episodes like this.

it was weird at the the beginning, sad at the middle (though the teacher's interrupting comments gets me to laugh in between that sadness, LOL) till the end credits rolled and became very funny! I should have expected that twist but I guess I was lost in my emotion from the last park scene when the credits rolled! ROTFLMAO!

I had to post as this became one of my favorite Gintama epeisodes!

That was just heartwarming at the same time hilarious.

The first half with the teacher's comments about his student were funny esp.

"Why is there a flashback in your journal?" LMAO

And then it started to get serious and and respected Madao as he should be.

But when the credits showed

"Written and Directed by Mom." I died. ROFL

This is why Gintama is just awesome.

Yep, a really nice Madao episode, Naruto's voice fit in nice...
Of course, Gintama had to follow it's form, too, with the "Hey, how come you're writing as a pro now?"(or something similar) and those ending credits...:D

So beautiful and heartfelt. I love Hasegawa-san so much no matter anything <3.

Naruto-kun! Wasn't too sure, but when he started yelling, it was painfully obvious lawlz. Ij could just imagine the dattebayo because it's Naruto's kind of story too :).

Loved this episode soo much. The gag at the end made it funny, but that story was brilliant. Gintama never fails to impress me, fillers oe otherwise.

5/5 - LOVE.

Wow, what an episode. First time I really feel as if Madao is good at something... I guess even he is not a hopeless guy.. Go Madao! Although I feel it's kinda sad that he is apart from the boy..

And of course after the touching part there's the funny unexpected end (that the mom was the one who wrote it?!)

Madao episodes are always some of the best and this was no exception xD

I love how the kid treat Hasegawa-san like he's some plant or a stray dog, even to the extent of putting him in a doghouse

The ending was quite heartbreaking but of course in true Gintama fashion they end it all on a joke, which was nice cos i prefer to laugh than to cry :)

Yeah, I'd agree this is probably the best one episode story so far. Some funny stuff, but it was pretty sad and touching as well.
