Whoa now that was weird...especially with the beginning and visuals.

Couldn't take this seriously with the idea of the Loch Monster. However, I will say that some of the artwork feels a bit different than most shows I've seen so far.

That ending though....
Yeah, definitely not a normal show.

Certainly looks interesting. I am hoping for subs, too, but this seems like a series where you at least partially understand whats going on even without subtitles.

Found this:
No subs so I can't understand stuff, but it pretty much follows the standard "stupid people go where they shouldn't be and now there are monsters" kind of thing with the competent scientist coming in.
With the anime debut of Tomovies as an Animation Production, it would naturally come to the cheaper side of animation which in this case is Pull Animation. Even the director is still a greenhorn with only one previous role to back himself up namely Yamishibai's director. I haven't seen it so no comment yet on how he actually works. But what makes this short interesting is the massive use of gradients and grain. It gives a unique tone to the animation and allows for some depth to it with the use of other special effects. Problem with this is that it works in some areas, and not with others (they had to use fades to transition facial expressions). I'll watch more of this to see how well this style can prove itself.
And, if you download this, due to the grain, the video file is massively bloated which could be bad or good, I don't know but it's something to note.

From the looks of it, Banba-sensei is sort of a supernatural detective/scientist and has something like sensor that tingles at the presence of monsters or related objects.

Yami Shibai's director is on the case, so it should be an interesting short? At least I hope so..

Finally subs.

Um... Well, that wasn't as I expected it'd be. Very weird art. Probably skip

What the fu** did I just watch
Let’s say you drink too much strawberry milk, and have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. You don’t want to get up, but the urge to urinate is just too strong! You run to the bathroom, stand in front of the toilet, and let loose! You think that all your life has led to this moment! YOU'RE STILL IN BED! That feeling of lukewarm wetness spreads! But you can’t stop! THAT’S THE TRUTH OF THE STRAWBERRY MILK! DO YOU GET IT? ~ Gintoki

Well this is definitely not what I was expecting!

The animation is just weird and I feel like I'm watching a paper cutout being animated.

The ending though has me intrigued! Can't get much info in an 8 min short.

We'll have to see where this goes!
So glad that I'm not a huge manga reader, because the manga readers WHINE WAY TOO MUCH and have to RUIN every adapted anime for the ANIME ONLY WATCHERS!

it was kind of comical at how cliche everything turned out to be towards the end but it was still enjoyable because i guess the atmosphere of the show was so different and weird. the animation definitely gives it a creepy effect and i kind of like it! i will keep watching and I'm pleased that Sugita was picked for Banba-sensei.

I think might have enjoyed this more if it wasn't a paper-cutout style of animation, instead going for the traditional route with an atmosphere similar to Level E.

Wow about half the comments are people saying this wasn't what they were expecting. Have any of you saying this even seen Yami Shibai? From the premise and the art style I expected a short horror show in a similar vein and I got what I wanted. It should be fun, especially since there seems to be an overarching plot, via Banba, that will link disparate stories together. Should be a good watch. And cool to hear Sugita playing Banba as well.

Hahahaha

I was expecting something Vampire Holmes-like...

No .... no it wasn't. Intentionally limited animation are the only similarities. This show has a much better art style, directing, and has a very different tone. This is closer to Ninja Slayer than Vampire Holmes just on tone alone.

Also Sugitaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
What's with all these shorts being voiced by people I like?
I think his character will make this more interesting.

This is like the true PowerPoint presentation anime. The animation style is very 'unique' to say the least but I guess it's alright once you get used to it.

Banba's scar is obviously from one of these monsters. RIP the guy with the camera.

I've always loved kaiju, and now I'm seeing an anime of one! Really enjoyed this, I sort of got Jurassic Park vibes and I love the kaiju design. This episode was way too short, I was hoping it would last 24 or so minutes! Can't wait to see more!

The animation style makes it even more interesting. At least for me. Music was decent. Will definitely be keeping an eye on this. 8 min duration seems to be the right size for this.

I knew this is anime short. But I didn't think it would be like this!
Anyway. 8 Minutes wasn't a big deal. So, I might still watch it

I really is like Yami Shibai, but not as good at building up the atmosphere or giving a feeling of dread. Let's see if it improves.

Certainly more intriguing than Lance N' Masques and Heavy Object so far. Interesting art, got used to it quite fast and it got somewhat suspenseful.
