Don't forget about numerous cases of a "vocal minority" in terms of rabid, obnoxious fanboys/fangirls.

It could be that lots of people that watched LoGH are nothing like that but they simply don't feel like posting in MAL or other internet forums , so thus you don't know what the silent majority is really like.

I don't recall ever seein this.. I mean aside from the most hardcore NGE fans that consider everything else mediocre, but there's people like that in every fandom.
I like both of them myself.
