| Sportwise Hajime no ippo is the best by far. Ashita no Joe has more developed characters, drama and way better coming of age story but regarding the sport itself I prefer Ippo. Same thing regarding ping pong the animation, better or equal anime but sportwise I still prefer Ippo. |

| I have Keijo!!!!!!!! as #1 and Haikyuu!! as #2 I have yet to see Hajime no Ippo and Ashita no Joe though but I do plan on it eventually. I will watch Hajime probably March |

| I've seen all the shows with the most votes except for Hajime no Ippo. But of all the the ones I've seen none had me more invested in the characters and story than Kuroko no Basket. So I have to go with that one. |

| I mean if Hikaru No Go Count then definitely that is my choice because it was similar to chess/shogi in a sense. If not, the highest rated sports anime on my list is Bamboo Blade so there's that. But definitely there's too many titles missing from the poll like Ashita No Joe, Cross Game, Touch, Captain Tsubasa, Initial D, Diamond no Ace and Many more. |

| Chihayafuru. But I don't know if Slam Dunk shoud be there, I love the anime and the manga is even more amazin. The thing with Slam Dunk is how they fucked up the ep's a huge amount of the eps got 3-5 minutes of recap in them + you got the OP and ED. Thanks to this useless recap eps we didn't get a full adaption, it mad emy enjoyment of the show worse then it shoud have been. Thanks to that I don't think Slam Dunk shoud have the potential to be the best as it's more or less a fucked up adaption that fail in some aspect. |

| For pure sports anime Major is easily the best. No other sports anime shows a full career from elementary school to retirement. It's just the full package, covering basically everything any other sports anime covers and then some. That being said shows like Ping Pong or Ashita no Joe are better anime, I just don't really see them as typical sports anime like most of the others. There's a certain formula and tropes that make an anime a 'sports anime' instead of just an 'anime that includes some sports'. As far as I'm concerned there is a difference. |

| So glad to see Hikaru no Go, Oofuri, and Major getting mentioned here. HikaGo is my favorite sports anime of all time.. though it feels like people are slowly forgetting about Eyeshield 21.. it's probably the first sports manga that I've ever read, remember binge reading my friend's physical copy at school in the cafeteria, it was an amazing experience. | I voted for Haikyuu out of these (and I do really enjoy it), but my absolute favorite is easily Cross Game. Ookiku Furikabutte, Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru, and Tsurune would probably finish out my top 5. If "game" sports anime counts here, then I have to mention Chihayafuru, 3-gatsu no Lion, and Hikaru no Go. All great. |

| For me the best one is Major, but the most important and influential is by far Captain Tsubasa, this series alone made football(soccer) popular in Japan. |
