I think I let this better and better as it goes on. The amount of death is pretty huge, it feels like there's still a certain post-war sorrow even in kids cartoons. Also the monsters kick ass.

So let me see if I've understood this.

Ken demands that the daughter of the murdered scientist - who, granted, is scrappy enough to take on someone significantly bigger than her but who still goes down like a sack of spuds when hit - blows up the monster of the week. Which he wasn't meant to do himself, never mind getting a non-ninja to do it. When she doesn't want to, he first slaps her and then practically pushes the button for her. And then, after this fine display of 70s manliness, she thanks him for it.

I don't get it. But it was still a good episode.
