'Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri' Announced to Air in Split Cours

It was announced after the final episode of Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri that the series will broadcast in split cours, with the second half to premiere in January 2016. It will cover the Fire Dragon Arc.

The first season aired from July 4, 2015, to September 19, 2015, for a course of 12 episodes. It adapts the light novel written by Takumi Yanai with illustrations done by Kurojishi and Daisuke Izuka. The light novel consisted of five volumes that published from April 12, 2010, to December 22, 2011.

Thought so.

Since Heavy Object's time slot takes this, it would of been logical. Plus it would give the studio more time to focus on their production and the finale didn't seem like a fitting ending.

This kinda makes me wonder if HO will be either 1 cour or split cour...

I had a feeling this would happen after all of a sudden seeing the episode count change from 24 to 12. Oh well, at least it gives me one more thing to watch in winter.

Well at least they will continue and not leave things out there like that.....

This anime is Ok, I guess, finally a war anime without all those lolis and moe. Also, the battle scenes were pretty good.

As long as we're getting more, I have no complaints. Really liking GATE so far, even if they toned down the adaption from the source material.

Waiting sucks but at least we'll get to the end eventually

I’m perfectly fine with the break.
If possible. it’d be neat if they could keep doing 12-13 episodes for each story arc/chapter of the novel (Upheaval, All-Out Attack, and Dark Gate) until finished.

Anyhow, looking forward more in Winter. And hopefully more after that..... Summer?

The next season has the subtitle "Enryuu-hen", that's literally "Fire Dragon Arc".

The chances they'll adapt much more beyond that seem kind of slim. Especially when you consider that at least by the manga, I don't know about the novel, the first season covered roughly 25 chapters worth of material and the dragon business takes roughly another 25 so they'd be matching the pace set by season 1.

Uhhhh, yes? I'm referring to the fact that most military anime these days are full of panty shots, moe and even lolis, stuff like strike witches, Sky Girls, Girls und Panzer, Kantai Collection: KanColle, So Ra No Wo To, etc. I'm not saying they're bad or anything, but I don't like that kind of anime. And yes, I know know GATE has Rory Mercury and shes basically a loli ( Rory = ロゥリィ = ロリ= loli) but at least she's the only loli around.

Alright fair enough, it's funny because several people I know are actually watching this just for Rory xD.. Glad to see that Gate got both ends of the spectrum right here.

ALRIGHT!!! I was surprised that the number of episodes went down to 12, but as long as it will happen in the not so distant future, Im fine with it!

And here I was thinking this would be one of the few shows that I could continue to watch next season....

I prefer it better this way, because I probably would have dropped it next season. I'd rather finish up the first cour, have a break, and then decide whether I wanna see how it ends.

Yesss split cours! I kinda like that idea. Makes it easier to watch anime (unless you really love that anime, in which case you'd probably want it to be 2-cour right away)

Solid season is solid. I pretty much loved it. It had a nice balance and it maintained it till the end. This season has many good titles, that's for sure.

I am gonna give 8.5/10 same as Rokka no Yuusha. Also, Lelei best girl.

I would of love to watched all 24 episodes simultaneously but this can also work I am big Fan of this series GATE Rules.

WHY YOU DO DIS????? I love the next arc which is superbly amusing and also very much entertaining with much of backstabbing and killing dragons, resolve on tuca's father problem and also the reveal of "dat" demigod enemy...

wait is killing me over and over again with next seasonal anime not so much interesting in my opinion
