Ok so I'm really interested in the lolis plot, and also looks like a fun SoL. So tell me, are both seasons of fate/zero enough to get me into this? or do I have to endure DEEN's adaptation of stay/night that from what I hear isn't very good?

Edit: I realize there are a lot of topics like this apparently but I need a clear answer! Some guy says that watching fate/Zero first is a mistake because its meant to be a prequel, other guy says to avoid deen's adaptation and then some other says its necessary to watch it? I'm so confused.

I don't think you have to watch any to understand the show, since it's basically a spin-off completely centred in mahou shoujo elements and that happens to share a character from the Fate series, although none of her story of the Fate series matters here, because she has a different story in this show. - like it happened in Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha: you didn't need to watch Triangle Heart (the original show from where Nanoha belongs) to understand the show at all

Yes but I don't want to miss references or jokes. It's like watching lucky star before watching haruhi.

well then maybe it's better to watch fate/zero and unlimited blade works first. I think you can skip the deen works version since you get a reboot of the series that's at least worth

Considering the latter parts of 2wei cover aspects only mentioned in Heavens feel (final route of FSN), + charachters/gags from Hollow Attaraxia (fan disk sequal to FSN) it's kinda hard to get everything without being a VNfag.

If you want to watch it, watch it. You can catch up on the rest later (perhaps when they get adaptations)

While you'll certainly understand who these people are and any of the references more if you've seen Fate/Stay Night UBW (TV) and Fate/Zero, understanding that is not really required to enjoy this, as long as you're a fan of the magical girl genre to begin with. Your experience will be improved, but by all means give it a go if it's where you REALLY want to start.

As for watching Fate/Zero first being a mistake, I don't really think that's true anymore with the existence of the new Stay Night adaptation. Watching Zero first can make some moments of Stay Night UBW more impactful and satisfying, just as the same is true the other way around. It's really your pick. The only reason I would say to watch SN UBW first is because it introduces everything to you at a much more steady pace, while Zero is kind of an info-dump in the first couple episodes.
