Interesting episode esp the choosing the impostor one. And it's funny when Urameshi was trying to get Botan's figures. Naughty Yusuke!

I have to wonder whether or not Kaito held real resentment towards Shuichi.

To think that Genkai would be known to normal humans was rather surprising, as three middle school students sought her out.

It's not that surprising. Kuwabara also knew about her in the beginning and that was before he got involved in all the spirit world stuff. She must be famous even among normal people, or at least famous enough that if you look for information on psychics she shows up.

Whew that was just a test glad it wasn't actually plot where all of the new humans with power fought Urameshi and the others. Plot twist Kuwabara's sister is the real mastermind behind this hole plan.

Why do I feel that this arc and the last arc were written by 2 completely different people?

Seeeeee, Obaa-chan brought back to life is a GOOOOD THING.

Hearing Takehiro Koyasu turning from a cocky, gloomy, evil voice into an obliging, obeisant and gentle voice is very funny. He's done that many times.

There's a lot of urban nightscape, black demons outlined against bright streetlights, and Sensui appears through sliding doors and apartment columns. In the preview. But I'm too sad we're leaving this house. But they could always resurrect it as their headquarter. PLS!

I had also realized that these kids could of easily won and even killed everyone if they had wanted to. What if Kaito changed the taboo word at the last second like a scumbag so he wouldn't lose? What if he crushed all their souls on the spot and Kido strangled Yusuke? I had just assumed this was the more than occasional poor writing for the fights in this show, but surprisingly this time it was actually explained. Still, a bad sign if they initially made these fights make no sense and I just assumed they were like every other fight in the show.

Now confirmed that battles won't just be raw power fests hopefully, with Genkai trying to show them that they need to use their heads sometime. Despite my complaints about these episodes I thoroughly enjoyed them, very cheesy, simple fun with some great interactions between the cast.

I still need to know Botan's 3 sizes
I knew it he's going to pick Kuwabara just because he's the one fought with him the most xD
DIO? Asking for forgiveness? This isn't Jojo

I guess even in their deaths, their ambition still lingering around for another evil person to pick up

Didn't see the Genkai twist coming,(even tho the op spoiled that the 3 guys would join the team)but this was a nice opener for the upcoming events.

I made the same decision as Yusuke in my head for basically the same reasons. Compared with some other shonen stories, Yu Yu Hakusho usually seems a bit more sensible to me. Anyway, Genkai was clever for setting this up. The staircases were great looking - I loved the colors. I'm interested in how this is all going to go.

Oh god I'm so happy that this wasn't an actual arc, and just Genkai's scheme to teach Yuusuke and the others a lesson. Well, this got interesting, seems like the demon-world-connection plan is ongoing even after the long-hair died. Damn.

Now it's almost time for THAT guy to come up.

I think Kaito had a bit of Genuine hate towards Kurama comparing how these two guys were.
I hate it that we already had the Villain's face reveal since this ending started! Which was in the Dark Tournament.

These type of battles your complaining about are epitome of Jojo (I enjoy jojo) lol random, contrived and convenient ways in how the battles are won including concessional asspulls.

It may have only been a few years ago, but when I watched Hakusho I was a very different person. Overly critical for sure. I would no longer make these kinds of complaints.

After the Dark Tournament and Toguro's impressive display of power, this whole escapade set up by Genkai was well needed for the others, as a strong reminder that pure power isn't everything.

Felt rushed. The cloning guy was barely an obstacle, the shadow guy not at all, Genkai turns out to be behind the whole thing and Kurama was supposedly onto her?

Disappointing considering last episode was so much more promising

Yeah this was pretty much spoiled by the opening, I kind of figured this mini arc wouldn't really last long but I didn't think it was Genkai teaching our heroes a lesson about mind games. But again considering how much time was spend on the Dark Tournament it was definitely a breath of fresh air here. It was funny when Yusuke cheekily asked Botan about her figure plus the infomercial about the badges was pretty good too. So I guess all we need to do now, is basically get up to the big bad of this arc. We've gotten sneaky peaks of him in a few episodes so I'm guessing they are building up to him. For now this was overall pretty good.

Kind of a silly twist, but I imagine it's all in service of what's about to come up next. Genkai's just doing her job!

I like that there's a continued effort to make each powered character distinct. Having these new guys be totally human but use reiki based abilities that aren't meant solely for combat is a really nice touch, and a great compliment to the almost entirely strength focused arc we just went through.

Okay, these were seriously good episodes. I'm liking where YYH is going with this. The game of wit. And Hiei slander. I love it!
