Ignore this. This explanation is long and boring.

Here's a better explanation:

The universe is decaying.
QB and his alien friends want to stop that.
So they turn girls into witches.
Boom.

It doesn't matter what explanation you go for, you'll still be laughing in the end.

Ok wait so Homura knew QB's plan all along and her ultimate goal was to stop him from making the main girl into a witch which would be of unlimited power but she would only be that powerful because Homura kept time traveling back so many times to redo each failed attempt?

Also why wasn't QB interested in stopping Homura, didn't he purify her gemstone so she wouldn't turn or was it cause she kept time traveling back that her stone never darkened?

Doesnt the witch have to die first to create the grief stone which is harvested into the engery to sustain the universe? So if she was going to be the most powerful witch that no other magical girl could defeat how does tthat help QB?

Since witches are darkened magical girls what were the orignal set of magical girls fighting to darken their gems to turn them into witches to begin with?

Yes

So she can time travel again and again to stop Madoka being a magical girl and in the process make her even more powerful.

Doesnt the witch have to die first to create the grief stone which is harvested into the engery to sustain the universe? So if she was going to be the most powerful witch that no other magical girl could defeat how does tthat help QB?

For QB it doesn't matter since by that he would've already collected enough energy to sustain universe.

Dunno, make up you explanations just as they did with the entropy.

The reason QB wasn't interested in stopping Homura was that he didn't know about her. The QB in each new timeline was unaware of the events of the previous ones. This is pretty clear from QB's numerous comments about not knowing why Madoka has so much potential, his finally twigging what's going on at the start of Ep. 11, and of course (though Madoka's reset is a bit more fundamental) from his treating the whole 'witch world' as just an interesting theory at the end of Ep. 12.

Also, the witch doesn't die to create the grief seed. The witch 'is' the grief seed, just as the MG 'is' the Soul Gem. All the witch's death does is make the GS available. If you still have questions on the matter, I suggest you read this: http://www.janthor.com/sketches/index.php?/archives/12-On-the-population-dynamics-of-Puella-Magi-Madoka-Magica.html.
