Not really. It'll be popular for sure but not a phenomenon like those series were in the U.S because compared to those series it's really generic.

Oh well time will tell I guess.

Are you implying your opinion matters lol? I think one piece is uber generic, doesn't change the fact that it's very popular on Japan.

Fab to see Monster Musume at number 1, volume 7 was one of the best volumes of the series without doubt, hilarious yet touching as well.

Need to start reading Akame ga Kill! and Dragonar Academy soon despite my indifference to the formers anime.

Attack on Titan dropping off the list is surprising, happened once or twice before though.

No I'm not saying my opinion matters but what I'm saying is that I don't believe Hero Academia will be as popular as SNK and Naruto as they were a huge phenomenon.

Like I said I'm not saying the series won't be popular but it won't be as big as Naruto and SNK.

Well in the end it doesn't really matter because I could be wrong.

Naruto volume will sell more in the end. It's above it now in this week only because it's newly released, and Naruto is a week old.

Every vol snatched the top spot. Anyway Aot will be back. Hoping on the Oh my Goddess omnibus though. Support that title, the book quality is top notch.

It´s the second biggest market on global scale.
Around half of Naruto´s sales outside of Japan which is around 70 million come from the US.
So no having 30 million sales just in one country while other series with 30+vloumes reach just 20 is actually a big deal.

There was an "article" on Kotaku a while ago that explained how Manga is consistently dropping sales.

However One Piece is coninuesly rising. The matter of fact is that less trash gets printed and people buy less collective magazines like Jump.

I actually prefer it that way instead of 4 moey school schows we´ll get just 2 and from time to time a good adaptation of a well written manga or eye candy similar to Miyazaki´´s stuff.

No Attack on Titan?

The reign of terror is over.

Sucks JoJo dropped to #7 this fast already but I'm glad it's there at all, it didn't end up like Prison School at least.

Excited to see Tokyo Ghoul top the charts again next week.

Far from it. The second largest manga market is France. After that it's a toss-up between China and Korea.

The manga industry in America has only recently started to see some improvement, but it's merely dwarfed by the popularity of manga in other regions. Even the most popular titles have a hard time reaching 100k copies sold in a year.

I don't care, it raises localization chances of other series. Even if the actual mangaka isn't profiting, at least the industry is.

If you don't buy anything the automatic assumption is you just don't care.

AgK still in top 10. Awesome. I guess it's not just Japan that like ecchi. Monster Musume.

I didn't know China and Korea are huge market for manga. How did you know which manga market is the biggest after Japan. Any stats for it?
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Stop being ignorant. Whether or not you think US sales matter is irrelevant. I'm saying overall sales matter more than some manga being on top of a weekly list, much like the sales in Japan as well.

God damn you are clueless. Those 70 million sales are from the rest of the world not US. Second biggest market is France and it's not even close.

Huh? He said he was glad that AoT wasn't on the list, I'm jusst pointing out that it doesn't' matter, since weekly rankings are pointless, the end results of the sales will still be AoT on top.

That doesn't mean you can't get excited over the small short lived successes.

Of course the year end result will always be in AoT's favor, but in the music world that'd be like not acknowledging Nirvana's success just because in the year end charts they only reached #34.
