I'm now rewatching NGNL for the 1000000th time cause of the dub :p

It's watchable (listenable?), though the only VA trying to do the originals some justice is Sora's.

The original is simply too great though.

I think that Sora and Shiro's voice acting is pretty convincing most of the time, but I can't stand Jibril's voice, and I dislike some of the unnecessary changes they made to the actual dialogue. It seemed like they went out of their way to make Sora seem pervy and unlikable, changing lines that weren't suggestive, like "INTRODUCTIONS" to "Let's get intimate, yeah!" What the heck is that?

Jibril does a similar thing, with the way she delivers her lines. Her voice is coy and playful, which is wonderful sometimes, but ruins the effect her more serious moments have in Japanese. She seems incapable of taking anything seriously in English; those few solemn moments are all she had to show that she had any level of character beyond her pervyness and interest in the protagonists, and her English VA removed that by speaking every line the same way.

I thought the way they made Izuna's speaking quirk of saying "desu" into "please" and "thanks" and "thank you" was adorable and more than made up for any other flaws in the English version, but the Japanese is still better by miles.

Sub usually is better because in english dub they change the dialogue some to fit the character's mouths when they are speaking lol

So actually, No Game No Life is my favorite anime of all time but since i couldn't access sub at the time I got watched it in its dubbed version. It's way better than a lot of other ones, because I absolutely cannot stand a lot of dubbed anime. But, the sub is also great too.

Usually a dub watcher but every main voice (except Shiro, but esp Jibril) sounds weird and off, so watching sub
