AkG barely hanging on this week from its previous rank 2 spot. Nice to see My Hero Academia all the way up there though. Anime adaptation please. ![]() |
Good for Tokyo Ghoul, JoJo, and One Piece they deserve it. Never understood the appeal of Hero Academia, it's pretty mediocre. For a manga about Heroes it's pretty uninspiring. ![]() |
My Hero Academia could become a big seller for Viz down the line if it's already ranking without any anime hype. ![]() |

The comments on it's award reception all praise the underdog Deko, called it inspirational and the comments were from people 20-21 years old. It has the same appeal as Naruto and Hajime no Ippo. ![]() |

Honestly to tell you the truth it really isn't. It's pretty generic and filled with cliches. The beginning of the series suffered from fast pacing and it seems like it still is going fast. Naruto had a much better beginning than Hero Academia. It's decent but it's really nothing special. But I guess it's just an opinion. ![]() |
Congratulations to Araki(that he surely don't neeeds) for the first place. Surely, there's nothing above Jojo on this list. ![]() |

I think the pacing is pretty good. I like it's beginning more than naruto. yeah opinions. IDontWishToBe said: Congratulations to Araki(that he surely don't neeeds) for the first place. I think it was the first proper superhero manga in Shonen Jump since superheroes became highly prominent in media with the Marvel cinematic universe and such. Plus Naruto was ending around the time the series began so it probably had a great opportunity to try and grab fans of Naruto who were looking for something to "move onto". & Jump hadn't had a new popular battle manga in ages so I think it was sort of inevitable that one was going to come along around the time My Hero Academia began. ![]() |
Impressive results for My Hero Academia debuting in North America in the top 5. Now I'm wondering how One Punch Man will perform? ![]() |

All nice and such but check the numbers behinds the titles. Its always the big 5 plus books below 10 vols that stick for more than 2 weeks. Kinda worrying Market cannibalizing itself ? Anyway, Owari back ? did something happen ? S2 shouldnt be affecting it too much, did it recieve a dub ? ![]() |
As stated many times before, ranking in the NY Bestsellers List isn't a big deal compared to Japan since the differences in the scale of the manga markets in both regions are night and day. ![]() |

I'm not a dub watcher nor a hater to be clear(Peeked a bit at Gangsta's for instant, quite liked it). So really, dont go all '' Didn't you know'' on me. That being said thanks for reminding me about it though. And I know it recently finished, season 1 that is, I was watching it as it was airing.Punkbeetle said: All nice and such but check the numbers behinds the titles. Again just ask Gintama, a quite popular series whos english version got cancelled because of low sales/cost. Sure, Japan their popular publications may sell millions/ hundred thousands of copies and are safe but every sale for the English editions counts since their safetyzone in a lot less.As stated many times before, ranking in the NY Bestsellers List isn't a big deal compared to Japan since the differences in the scale of the manga markets in both regions are night and day. ![]() |

Text ofcourse, as you know, doesnt have intonation so when something can fall on either end of the mocking scale I by default answer back as I just got mocked.Punkbeetle said: zilch16 said: Punkbeetle said: All nice and such but check the numbers behinds the titles.
