Tragic end would be appropriate for this of anime…or not?

I personally think tragic end would be appropriate for this anime/manga where Nic ,Worick, or both character dies at the end. Would that be too cliché?

I can already picture few variations of ending scenes…

1) Nic dies by taking bullet(s) for Worick. The final scene : Worick stabs a Kanata sword through Nic`s grave in memory of Nic while Alex watches from afar holding back tears. It is raining. The scene ends with both of them walking away from the cemetery with Worick holding Alex`s shoulder.

2) Basically the same as above except both Nic and Worick dies sacrificing themselves to save Alex. It cuts to the final scene in the rainy cemetery where Alex lays down broken Katana sword ( or hanker chief) in front of Nic`s grave and lays down eye patch in front of Worick`s grave.

I think the anime is just a teaser for the manga, and that it won't have a proper "ending" per se, but I do feel that the manga, overall, will have some sort of sad ending, whether it's bittersweet or downright depressing.

Yeah I agree. I did not mean to imply that anime ending would be different from the manga. I`ve read ahead few chapters ahead of current episode and so far, they are doing a great job. I wouldn`t expect them to change the ending for anime.

Would be too easy if they play Sting`s Shape of My Heart in the final scene?

Nic's gonna die no matter what.
They even stated that he only lives in his Thirties.(Unless they give magical bs to make him live longer)
Now the question is, Does he die peacefully or go out with a bang?

Reading the posts from non-manga readers on this thread makes me sick.
This didn't happen on the Anime so just stop thinking of abstract thoughts.

yeah but anime is closely following manga so whatever happens in manga will eventually happen in anime.

yeah but anime is closely following manga so whatever happens in manga will eventually happen in anime.

As if there would be a sequel to it shortly.

It will probably take a while but it`s obvious that anime isn`t straying from manga. However long it takes, whatever happens in manga will happen in anime.

If tragic ending means going anime original then nope. The manga is still ongoing and I can't see how our main duo are going to drop dead right now. We have enough people complaining about Akame ga Kill ending already. People dying does not always mean audience are going to cry.

I do tend to enjoy a tragic hero every once in awhile, though considering where they're living, their deaths wouldnt come as much of a surprise right?
It'd have to be in a truly tragic format, like some serious double crossing, not just an accident

Yeah I agree and I don`t think anime is going to go with original ending with the way it is closely following manga with few minor changes.

Tragic end for the sake of anime original ending is bad but I don`t think that is going to happen with the things the way they are.

Don't worry guys the main characters didn't die in the anime. And it's not original ending.
They just end it with volume 5 chapter 28 of the manga.
And it's somehow tragic because they end it with a cliffhanger!
