Title says it all really - but any specific recommendations? Any anime games?

Already purchased games:

1. The Legend of Zelda, Majora's Mask 3D
2. Pokemon Alpha Sapphire
3. Pokemon Y
4. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fates <- Planning on getting the other FF games as well
5. New Super Mario Bros

Thanks in advance :)

I don't. It's such a giant waste of your time. If you want to sink 400 hours to get to the end game, and like doing that, go ahead.

...also Monster Hunter 3U seemed a bit better in terms of difficulty. MH4U constantly does a bunch of cheap stuff and it's not very noob friendly compared to 3 I think.

I do recommend this though. It sucks that the company went bankrupt, so there's a giant quality drop in terms of dungeons and stuff around the 2/3 mark, but I'm a big fan of the series and it's a giant improvement in terms of engine and gameplay.

Check out "Virtues Last Reward". It's an excellent mind-fucky game that often gets overlooked.

I'd say "New Super Mario Bros" is a good place to start for instant fun and replay value.

I have a question. I don't own a 3DS yet, but is it easy to get past the region protection? Or should I just go buy a Japanese 3DS to play imported games?

Make sure you play the prequel '9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors' first.

Get a japanese 3DS. It's region locked.

Okay then. But seeing that the 3DS is still $200+ is both the US and Japan, I think I'll wait another 3 or 4 years until it's discontinued, so I can get it cheap.

Apparently, there is QR Code Hack that allows to bypass the Region Lock.

Has anyone tried this?

If you don't already own a wii u, get Smash Bros and Mario Kart. I own them for the wii u and they're super fun. I believe they're the same on the 3DS (just with downgraded graphics).

Then there's Xenoblade Chronicles, but it looks pretty bad on the 3DS. If you have no other way to play it, just get the 3DS version. It has a beautiful story.

Bravely Default stuttered in the middle but it's still a really awesome game. The art and soundtrack alone make it worth a play.

I think everyone else already listed all of the big-name 3DS titles, but completely neglected the ones you can get from a certain section in the Nintendo eShop:

Virtual Console.

Yes, there's not quite as many older games on the 3DS compared to the Wii U, but there's still quite a selection to choose from. The best ones (at least IMO) are Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, the two Zelda Oracle titles, and all the Mega Man games.

there's also a bunch of indie ports on there like VVVVVV, bit trip runner, AVGN Game, etc.

Lots of content, great tactical gameplay, beatiful music and a great difficulty :)

I disagree. It's not perfect, but there are many great games on the 3DS VC: Wario land 1-3, Zelda, Blaster Master, Pokemon TCG, Contra, Recca 92 ...
