Mirai Nikki

The show was already bad, so I was hesitant about watching the OVA for awhile.

So far of two anime I watched the first season but didn't watch 2nd:
SNAFA and Love Live
Reason: 1st seasons where bad enough already

Chuunibyou I wanted to skip the 2nd season as well; but I'm really glad I didn't

Free. I really disliked that show.

Psycho Pass. Because no Kogami = No watch.

Usually if I dislike something I drop it in a couple of episodes.

Had this with Nisekoi... once I knew it was basically a rom-com/harem, basically lost interest. Only dragged myself through Season 2 coz there were a couple of new characters, but gave it a lower than usual score.

I don't know if this counts, but I can't bring myself to watch FMA: Brotherhood after having seen the original multiple times. Why? Because they changed Roy Mustang's VA! It completely turned me off the show even though everyone keeps saying that it's the best **** ever.

But mostly when I don't bother continuing to the next season it's because I'm just tired of it's general concept. I never got far in Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae because the first two seasons became a bit exhausting to watch by the end.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya S2 because I didn't want to suffer through the rest of Endless 8, after experiencing the first 2 episodes of it in the first season.

I did that with the WIXOSS series and Grisaia. I dropped it after the first episode cause I had no interest in it. I didn't watch the sequel to Grisaia cause it was absolutely awful, but the sequels have good ratings and I'm aware of the VN, so I'm considering looking at it in different light.

I'll try out Seraph 2nd season and see how it goes, but season 1 was terrible.

Psycho Pass. I can't find the second season for free legally, or at least I haven't really looked.
I felt like the first season was satisfying and I haven't heard fantastic things about the second one.

I have this with Ikkitousen, I've completed the second season today, but the show is just bad, and I feel like I won't get any satisfaction of watching the other 2 seasons of the show.

And does this count as dropping a show, I'm usually the one who finishes every single season of a show when I've started watching it (I'm against dropping a show) But does this also count if you've completed the 1st season and won't watch the second season?

Not in my mind. There's being a completeness and then there's being a masochist. You only need to finish the show not the entire franchise.

Highschool DxD.

The echiness is fine, the problem is it tries too hard with its sucky generic plot instead of the real "plot". Lack of titties in other words.
How is the plot generic exactly?

I adored the first and second seasons of mushishi but can't get myself to finish the third season. I really want to but I know that it'll make me all melancholy and whatnot.

I did this with Darker Than Black..I didn't want to watch the second season. Forgot my reasoning tbh. But I guess I can make a guess that I heard from my friends it was bad.

I'd have to say I'm heavily debating this with Highschool DxD. I really liked season 1 and season 2 was just ok so I'm not sure I even want to continue. Doesn't help that I heard season 3 is complete garbage.

If disregarding shows that didn't have shit first seasons, I think I'm limited to:

-Minami-Ke Okawari
-Nisekoi:
-Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W

The prior was just hair-raisingly awful next to its predecessor, and both the two latter ones had the same problem of becoming excercises in copypasta-like repetition, or "goldfish anime". Nyaruko-san also completely stopped being funny. Somehow i completed it though, because at the time I had ran out of shows to watch.

I'd at least recommend Meikyuu (the one-hour special) as it is 95% prequel to Kajitsu. Then let your thoughts on Meikyuu help you decide if you want to continue into Rakuen.

(Personally, Meikyuu is the only VN adaptation I have ever seen that I consider better than the source)

Yep Hamatora and KKiniro Mosaic come to mind. Didn't particularity care for their first seasons so I didn't bother with the second seasons. In Kiniro Mosaic's case I only finished it cause at the time I had a lot more free time than I do know.

Also OP the second season of Ikkitousen is the worse season of Ikkitousen, although I'm pretty sure you probably won't like the other seasons anyway.

Nisekoi- I pulled through the first season which was kind of fun despite the cliches and Raku's expanding harem. I watched the second season until some episodes after Chitoge's mother arc. I don't see the anime making any significant progress and the episodes seemed to focus on one specific girl each time, so I decided not to continue watching.

Sword Art Online I guess, after the disappointing first series I layed off the second for a while. I watched all of Gun Gale and just dropped it.
Also haven't watched the second series of Black Lagoon (someday) and K-ON because I don't like it.

Naruto. And I say this as someone skipped the filler. Sasuke's fall into depravity was horribly done.
Somewhat irrelevant, but I don't plan on watching the second season of Owari no Seraph. Possibly the most poorly executed, cliche-ridden series I have ever had the privilege of viewing. Truly a piece of shit, and not even in the fun way.

Came here to say this. Kirito was a shitty protagonist and it overall just wasn't a very good show. Why the hell do girls "fall in love" with him when 1. He has less of a personality than a hamster and 2. they've met him for like a day. It makes no sense.

Chuunibyou, because I really liked how the first season ended, and didn't like the direction the second season was going.

Ef: Tale of Melodies, because I absolutely despise Kuze and did not want to sit through watching him be a fucking scumbag.

I only watched the first episode of the second season. I dropped it, because I just didn't feel like watching it anymore. It's good but I'm too lazy to finish it =/

A few of us need to start insisting that not watching every season of an anime is the same as dropping it. It'll drive the completionists nuts.

OT: While this hasn't actually happened to me before, it wouldn't be hard for me to imagine. Something that was borderline throughout my watch wouldn't necessarily be something I would want to watch the sequel to.

Also, there are reasons apart from liking/disliking the prequels for skipping sequels, such as in large franchises like Gundam.

I actually add sequels to shows I don't plan on watching to my drop list. I don't rate them or add any watch episodes to it though.

You don't want to see the Battle of the Hawks animated? You don't want to see what is easily Takamura's most badass moment in the series animated? Are you sure? Are you really, really sure?

I drop both 2nd season of Log Horizon and Haruhi, mainly because i think their 1st season is superior than the following ones and i found both of their 2nd season is pretty boring..

Kyou Kara Maou, I never knew it could be such a painful anime. The first season wasn't that bad, but I may have been blind. Now that I'm 2/3 through the third season I just can't drop or continue.. I'll have to push through it one day.
