In its defense, it doesn't have an ongoing anime. Though the same can be said for FMA or HxH which didn't have ongoing anime for several years yet still sold 800-900k per volume before they got remade. Bleach was mostly popular in the magazine/TOC ranking, but in terms of volume sales, it has a very short tail it seems. |

I thought this volume would sell significantly more because of Gear 4 Sales doesnt always equate to quality. I think that volume didnt have gear 4th It has! But you're right. Just because of hype chapters in a volume doesn't make it increase sales noticeable. For a volume to increase in sales, specially in the case of One Piece, it has to exist buzz about the series enough to bring at least 1 of 2 things: - Fans that buy the series way later than when its released to not be able to wait. - New Manga Fans that will jump right to the volume. One Piece is right now really popular and visible in Japan. Everybody certainly heard about it. It will be difficult now to create enough buzz of it to do anything. The magazine is also huge, 2.6 Million copies per week, and certainly majority of readers, if not all, read also One Piece. This means that the incentive to buy a Volume fast is not that big for either New Manga fans or Later volume buyer. |

Actually you are wrong about AssClass, before its anime it sell quite well, and the anime gave it a bigger boost, so AssClass did not fail in that aspect. Bleach sales dropped a lot, it used to be a top seller, now is it because it has no anime? I don't know. One Piece is extremely popular and it sales, currently One Piece dominates the weekly and annually sales. |

One Piece #77 spotted. XD That was sweet. One Piece #78 dominating as usual, but what I am interested in is its sales for a whole 7 days / a week. But regardless, the King is back on the list! Good to see Aozora Yell hanging in there, I really hope that more of her works get the recognition it deserves (and anime pls). Kawahara Kazune is one awesome shoujo writer. I have forgotten that Ore Monogatari is also written by her. Some of her works: Ore Monogatari Aozora Yell Koukou Debut Tomodachi no Hanashi Sensei |

I don't think so. If we compare to other volume sales after 3 days we get: BLEACH 50: 387322 BLEACH 53: 248429 BLEACH 54: 269751 BLEACH 60: 255363 BLEACH 63: 228154 BLEACH 65: 205159 BLEACH 67: 239346 BLEACH 68: 223964 |

ONE PIECE on top for the most recent volume (that 1.6M+ is from 3 days of sales), and surely is #1 for 2015 now, since it will probably have one more volume left for the year, and with Nanatsu no longer having a boost from the anime. Kingdom moves up again, and Tokyo Ghoul:re knocks NARUTO out of the Top 10. *1 *8,825,406 ONE PIECE *2 *7,876,423 Nanatsu no Taizai (七つの大罪) *3 *6,294,931 Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (暗殺教室) *4 *5,137,472 Shingeki no Kyojin (進撃の巨人) *5 *3,667,182 Haikyuu!! (ハイキュー!!) *6 *3,243,949 Ao Haru Ride (アオハライド) *7 *2,917,331 Terraformars (テラフォーマーズ) *8 *2,758,493 Kingdom (キングダム) *9 *2,640,791 Tokyo Ghoul (東京喰種) 10 *2,483,053 Tokyo Ghoul:re (東京喰種:re) Is it just me or is Tokyo Ghoul's(The first part) sale not being counted anymore...its been the exact same number, 2,640,791 for the past couple months now... |

I am only using the Top 10 Weekly Manga Series sales and the Top 50 Weekly Manga volumes as reference points. Any volume that ranks between 51 and 500 in a week, and does not make the Weekly Manga Series, will fall under the thresholds. Those are the limitations to this data, so its actual sales is sitting between 2,640,791 and its upper bound of 3,350,538. I have provided the max possible sales for all series in the spreadsheet and its rank based on max possible sales. So if every series were to be at their absolute upper bounds, then Tokyo Ghoul would currently 7th, but we have no way of knowing where it is exactly, unless someone is generous enough to post the longer manga sales list from Oricon Biz. |
