| Great start, Umaru's tantrums were worse here than in the manga, though it did improve when this happened. The "Umaru Roll" was cute as ever! Grocery shopping was a lot more enjoyable, and Umaru's stubbornness was cute too (along with her bishie sparkles). it's all taihei's fault for dropping the ice cream! | Thank god this came through with the comedy after Joukamachi no Dandelion turned out to be awful. It wasn't that consistent though, and I can see it getting repetitive, but I enjoyed episode one. |

| I'm honestly surprised so many people are enjoying this. Umaru scores perfect marks on all her tests. She can play piano immaculately without practicing (no, typing does not count). She can swim faster than a swim club member. Everybody respects her and loves her. When she is asked how she does it, she merely brushes it off as "luck"... I get that she's naturally gifted, but her "praise me" attitude just rubs me the wrong way. I like all the characters but her. Kind of hard to like this show when it revolves around her. Hopefully I can enjoy it once they get her characterization out of the way. |

| It managed to get repetitive before the first episode was over, and I can't see the appeal for anyone who's not a masochist. The only part that made me chuckle was the awful English in her supposedly perfect exam, but that was just accidental meta humor. |
| I really loved this, and this season is already looking to be way better than Spring. Sound Euphonium is the first KyoAni I have ever dropped, and is by far my biggest disappointment. I actually haven't ever heard about this prior, and was shocked to see it on CR. I saw the word "Imouto" and knew I had to give it a go. Loved it, and was utterly surprised over how funny it was. In fact nothing of this Summer that I have picked up has been bad. This is looking like it's gonna be a good Summer. |
| Oh my, I feel so sorry for the brother. What Umaru did, reminds me of all those things my younger sister (and other spoiled kids) does . It's not cute at all. I mean, at least Umaru's a perfect student. That's something. Well, that's it for me, one episode is enough. I just feel annoyed after watching it. I thought I would laugh more, but nope, not even once. |

| After reading the replies in this thread, my impression is that Umaru is more similar to Sena Kashiwazaki from Haganai, since both are characters that are either loved or hated by the audience. |

XD This made me giggle: I think the problem here is that he didn't actually say 'hot'; the word he used was 美人, meaning beautiful. I don't think there's anything wrong with thinking of your sibling as 'beautiful'. I mean, there are plenty of natural landscapes I find beautiful, but that doesn't mean I want to have sex with them. So it's the fault of the translators here. A couple of other people called her 美人 too, so it's not just her brother. We'd have more of a problem if he'd said セクシー or 色っぽい. Anyway, I'm not blown away by this, I must say. I've put it on-hold for now, but I do think it has promise, so I'll be checking out the manga. I think perhaps the problem is it's too long; and anime like this may suit a shorter episode length. |

| I feel like the timing of the jokes and everything was a little... off? Compared to the source material anyway (then again you come up with your own timing while reading so the humor is developed through one's own scope). Hopefully it gets better, but it seems pretty average for the show. Shame because the manga is so great. |

| Umaru is cute when she's not a Chibi, and I like how humble she is at school. Her personality contrast is incredibly forced, even for a slapstick comedy. Don't think I'll watch this. |
