Marou and Natsu bonding...yup, I'm sensing something here between those two. The duo are adorable together this episode :3. Not too surprising the two are going out with all the developments. (the OP theme song already hinted this somewhat)  |

| Finally it happens and this episode was just perfect with no flaws.Have been waiting for Natsu confession and it was really awesome to watch it in anime and love Nat-chan and Ei-chan chemistry. |

| Dat Eichan vs Takuma was hype!! He's improved so friggin much. Even reporters are starting to get interested :3 Best confession scene ever <3 Nacchan's so cute <3<3 "Who cares who says it first. U already confessed anyway" :P That's what I'm talking about. Even though they were cockblocked by Takuma last time, she got the point. I love this girl :3 Loved the faces she made this ep <3 This chap in the manga made me give the series a 10 and I was sure to keep it after the incoming match with Ide. | Nat-chan best girl! Eiichiro x Natsu for OTP of all OTPs. The confession scene was really well done. I've even read the manga and that scene still made me act like a fanboy. I wonder where they will end this season off on. |
| The confession was surprisingly casual, followed by a cute exchange of words. Looking forward to more awkwardness between them, especially when everyone in STC and school learns about it. This season is quite something for it to the confession but also this upcoming tournament. |

| IT'S OFFICIAL IN THE ANIME! :D Natsu was so smooth, I read this part in the manga but I didn't remember it was the confession scene until she showed the sea to Ei-chan!! That was so adorable! (wish the animation was better even before the confession scene...) Yes! It's Ide time! Can't wait to see Maruo's next next match! |

| Finally the confession!!! Nat-chan was waaay too cute... especially since the animators took real good care to make her look more beautiful with the colored lips. The atmosphere was perfect too.. just still silence with the sound of waves hitting the beach. Nat-chan and Ei-chan's moments are always cute, it's too bad that there aren't many of them (well considering this is mostly sports). |

Yes! FINALLY! we're seeing some romance between Nat-chan and Maruo. I didn't expect Natsu to be the one who would break the ice first, go Natsu!! And LOL Maruo is disappointed that she beat him to the confession, no worries Maruo! At least you have that girl by your side now~ Man, I anticipate to see their interactions with each other in the future episodes... looks like it'll be awkward for them for a while.  Now with the confession out to the way, and so forth with the competition!! |

| Finally, the confession happened. Animation still leaves stuff to be desired sometimes, but Baby Steps is otherwise an impeccable adaptation of a fantastic sports manga. Good stuff. |

As the series continues we'll get to see some other really nice moments between the two as well. As things stand the couple already spends a considerable amount of time together what with practices and training, so the upgrade in status may well just mean the odd non-tennis related date and some interaction with parents (and more importantly with each other). |

Bad directing. not really, it wasn't an emotional climax because it was just a natural soothing walk along the beach and they were both aware how they felt. there was no need to make a big scene of it when neither of them have been particularly emotional in that respect throughout the series. they like each other, they want to date, that's all there is to it. |

| YES! YES! YES! FINALLY! FUCK YEAH! I was SO looking forward to this and it FINALLY happened. Romantic progression for the win! Anyways, brilliant episode. Maruo's certainly improved a lot since he nearly won against Takuma. Can't wait to see him in the tournament, it'll be an absolute cracker. :D |
