Do you day dream a lot? I'm talking whether you randomly end up drifting into your own world at weird times, not necessarily if you're always daydreaming or lost in thought. And do you think its healthy/normal to do so?

When I was in school, I often drifted away into a day dream during a lesson. And you know what the teachers did if they noticed me gazing off into nowhere? Instead of letting me enjoy my dream, they snapped at me and asked me to repeat what they were just saying. Seriously, the teachers who did this were A-holes.

Look, I can understand, you have a stressful job and have to put up with bratty kids all day, but that doesn't mean you have to be an asshole. Let a kid dream for fucks sake. The school system just kills free thinking and imagination.

Yes. But I don't when I'm at school or anything like that.
Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my leg... and my arm... even my fingers. The body I've lost... the comrades I've lost... won't stop hurting... It's like they're all still there. You feel it, too, don't you? I'm gonna make them give back our past."

I daydream so much, it's unhealthy. And what's worse, is that I cannot control it.

Nearly 90% of the time I daydream, I go into an "Anime World," and when that happens, everything someone is saying to me in real life is going to go in one ear, and out the other.

Yup. Ever heard of Maladaptive Daydreaming?

I can day dream for hours on end. It used to be difficult to get out of that when I was younger, but now it's become a lot easier. I still spend a couple of hours or so daydreaming while I'm on my computer or during lunch break.

Daydreaming is fun and healthy. And it freaks people out when they think you've been staring at them for the past 15 minutes.

Don't know whether Maldaptive Daydreaming can be considered too healthy but I can definitely relate to drifting off while doing boring things that dont require too much focus (Do that all the time).

I'd say I am day dreaming whenever I'm not specifically thinking about something else. I know that sounds vague but It's true. During lulls at work, riding my bike, listening to music, making dinner ect ect. Basically whenever I'm doing something that I do not have to pay specific attention to. I even daydream sometimes when I should actually be doing something productive but I can't help it.

One of my most common daydreams is trying to imagine what someone from the distant past would think if they could see/hear what I was experiencing. Often times it is someone famous, eg, Charlie Chaplin. I wonder what they would think about the advancement of human technology and social policy they see through my eyes. Not sure if that was the kind of daydream you were asking about, but that's my two cents.

People always misunderstand me whenever I daydream. During class when I think I'm staring into space, I don't realize I'm actually staring at someone. I even end up staring at other people's food during meals and they would offer their food to me.

Maladaptive Daydreaming is definitely not healthy, but it's controllable. Controlled daydreaming can be very good for you if you have violent thoughts and a lot of teenage angst filled up in you.
