Well i mean even if an API is down, surely there's a way to spoof actual website inputs given you login correctly, as in surrogate the program for the normal web traffic and use bots in the exe to automate it. I imagine it'd be slower and a bit of a pain to program, but i imagine it's doable. ![]() ❀桜舞う空〜 Cute is Power. 🔗CosmoGenesis Project AraOto ep06 @ 11:59 “Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.” “A truth seeker has no patience for BS.” I seek only to improve myself and others. |
That's how malu worked in the beginning. ![]() |

Indeed, but then they added API and made Kotori lower his guard ;x And that's how we're here. I'm serious about possibly making MALu support Anilist or Kitsu in some way... I have no hope for MAL to get their API back up at any point in time in foreseeable future (tho that means a lot of workhours to change stuff, so I dunno if it's worth it for you). ![]() |
I have a backup of the old "api" I used before the actual API, but most of it doesn't work anymore with all the changes MAL has gone through since then. ![]() |
Hi, I downloaded the latest version but I have problems installing it because Windows 10 keeps saying the installer contains malware, a trojan called Wacatac. I've used MAL Updater for years and I trust it's safe to use, and based on what I've googled is common for software to be raised as a false positive for this trojan, so I thought I should let you know about this, Kotori. ![]() |

Hi, that's odd, what antivirus does it trigger on? VT does not show anything: Installer https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/08a6a3cd0bfc507a89e8018bde161adfe647ec2eaca575814c2b195c807e9d42/detection main EXE https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/ac04a4e14fdf003007fa5144430c86e4c5fd2f88ddb7095b64be8d0adf507547/detection ![]() |
Windows Defender does it. I don't even have antivirus software installed on my computer. When I try to download the installer using Chrome or Edge it won't even let me keep the file on the hard drive. I could download it using Firefox, but when I tried to execute the installer I got an error message saying the file was dangerous or something similar. I had to go to Windows Security Settings -> Virus & Threat protection and add the trojan reported (Wacatac B1 or D1 sometimes) as "Allowed threats" and I finally could install it. ![]() |
