Glad to see Terra Formars at fourth. The anime was kind of bad (not terrible but bad) but I love the manga.

Seriously though..
> *3. 183,830 *,183,830 Horimiya Vol.7
At this rate, it's literally screaming for an anime adaptation. A TV one.

Also nice to see I am a Hero in top 10 this week.

25. *25,068 1,614,232 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.16

And snk vol 16 has reach 1.6 mill. As I've said before snk always reaches 1.6 mil before dropping off the charts and it has done it again. So the people that thought snk was loosing fans, think again.

22. *26,638 *,*26,638 Kekkon Yubiwa Monogatari Vol.2

I've been following this series since the 1st chapter, its a nice harem manga with an interesting plot. Happy that this is selling decently well.

50. *18,151 *,175,118 Kingdom Vol.1

People really need to read this series, I'm only at volume 10 but so far its a great series and its already one of my favorite manga and it really needs more love as well. Surprise that volume 1 is in the charts, where did this sudden boost come from? But who's complaining. ;)

Ao Haru Ride~ The cover for the last volume is so cute, as expected of Sakisaka Io. Really looking forward to her next work.

Nice seeing Nijiiro Days up there. Hmm Houseki no Kuni? I remember seeing a PV for that a while ago, might take a look at it soon. And Akazukin Chacha...N? o_o Isn't that a really old series...I'm surprised there's a continuation of it.

AHR cover looking good! Nice to see Gugure! Kokkuri-san in the top 20. Hope this sells more for a second season. Unusual for Houseki no Kuni to be in the list. This manga needs more attention.

As usual, DanMachi is all over the LN category. Mahouka is holding up well too. Rokujouma is inconsistent so it'll probably disappear next week. The anime was pretty decent though.

I look at these list every week but still dont understand them?

Does the sales mean the amount of money or the amount of copies sold?
How would you even get price if its copies?

Sales in copies refers to the number of physical "tankobons" that have actually been sold (as in a consumer has bought it, not just a retailer receiving the copy from a distributor which is referred to as a shipped copy). A tankobon usually refers to a book consisting of a certain amount of chapters originally released in a particular manga magazine, which has then been compiled into a single volume.

Obviously it has sold more. These sales are only what has been made since Oricon started keeping track (in 2007) so well after that volume was released.

There's also the fact that Oricon sometimes reset the values for whatever reason.

What's going on with Kingdom? Every volume is in the top 500, some will appear in the top 50 this week, has the manga gotten hype, or is the anime re airing?

There is popular mid night tv program in which comedians discussing about different topics and that topic was kingdom this time

Viewer ratings of that show are about 13-15 which is quite high for the time slot

Basically the boost was from a tv program, pretty atypical.

That sounds... odd?

Mahouka 16 overtakes the sales that vol 15 got from the weekly rankings, in about 2 weeks' less time. Only 23k away from what it got to on the half year rankings, which were from about 4 months of sales.

Horimiya for the win :)
What is the most cowardly and shameful thing in human conduct? It's when people with power and people who flatter them hide in safe places and extol war, force patriotism and self-sacrifice on others, then send them to the battlefield to die. For the sake of peace in the universe, before we continue this fruitless war with the Empire, mustn't we first start by exterminating such evil parasites? - Yang Wenli

This is sad... Mondaiji-tachi needs second anime season to cover rest of the books of 1 series like Drrrrr... It's even sadder when you think that NGNL who was "inspired" by Mondaiji-tachi it is much more popular.

That's only 2 days of sales. It will likely sell more than that next week.

And putting "quotation marks" round the word inspired makes it sound like you are implying things...

Not really. I like NGNL but it's heavy inspiration is clearly visible.
- characters from other world
- world where everything is decided by games
- characters join loosing/beaten fraction
- characters are connected in some way to that fraction/world
- blank ( [ ] - so no name) in NGNL and "No name" in Mondaiji-tachi
One year after 1st volume of Mondaiji-tachi was released. Also this this happened: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1277993

I know that NGNL targets otaku so it's full of fanservice and will selll more, but it's just sad.

First time I've seen Manga de Wakaru in the rankings, good to see it's selling moderately well. Need to start reading Macross The First and Baby Steps (anime so freaking good).

*3. 14,003 208,717 Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Vol.16
15. *7,625 *26,403 Oda Nobuna no Yabou Vol.13 National Edition

Mahouka still selling incredibly well. Gonna take the end of year top spot hopefully though Oregairu would be a deserved first also. Need to catch up on Oda Nobuna and Asterisk.

Hidan no Aria continues to sell well, and Mahouka still within top 5. Good going. Where's S2 announcement? D:

2015 Manga Sales thread has been updated with the data for week 28:
http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1373137&show=0#msg39283107

Ao Haru Ride moved from 9th to 6th after this week's sales, above Terraformars.

Spreadsheet with calculations have been updated:

Weekly Manga Series from Oricon Youtaiju
*1 615,143 Ao Haru Ride (アオハライド)
*2 347,512 Kuroshitsuji (黒執事)
*3 240,562 Kingdom (キングダム)
*4 192,150 Horimiya (ホリミヤ)
*5 141,463 Terraformars (テラフォーマーズ)
*6 138,803 Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (暗殺教室)
*7 135,371 Hoozuki no Reitetsu (鬼灯の冷徹)
*8 106,505 Kekkai Sensen (血界戦線)
*9 *97,061 Nijiiro Days (虹色デイズ)
10 *95,842 Owari no Seraph (終わりのセラフ)

I'm baffled. Why are some of the manga here (specifically Kekkai Sensen) have higher sales than the one the OP posted, but not posted on there? Are they two different lists/charts?

I feel like though it's been a long time since i saw Ubel Blatt making this list, even if it's monthly released.

Hidan no Aria first? Wow, I am kind of happy.

Last Embryo is a bit low ... damn. I guess the fact that it's not titled Mondaiji does not help?

There are many different lists released by Oricon Youtaiju, but MAL doesn't post this one... so someone has to do it. I could say the same with the light novel list there (which is actually 3 or 4 different lists from Oricon Youtaiju combined into one for the MAL list).

My quick explanation of why sales in the Manga Series list I posted are higher than what is in the OP, is that it covers the complete Top 500 manga volumes list every single week, while the usual manga list is only the Top 50 (more is available if you subscribe for the much more expensive Oricon Biz service). So obviously it will be >= to the total of all the volumes in the Top 50 there, since many of the Kekkai Sensen volumes are hanging between rank 51 and 500 for this week.

That's only 2 days of sales. It will likely sell more than that next week.

Actually, I'm surprised to see Last embryo this week. I thought it was released on the 1st of June, so it shouldn't be here? Seeing Kuuderes_Shadow saying it's two days of sale, was it released saturday 30th instead?

Anyway, people being disappointed about the sale should think a little before being disappointed... Like, look at next week sales when it'll get out, you're going to be surprised.

Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko's theoretical official release date is the 1st day of every month. Official as in that's the date stated on their website. It has no meaning beyond that though: unlike other publishers with official dates who will occasionally release a few days early in order to avoid certain dates, Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko (as well as Kabokawa Beans Bunko and Kadokawa Ruby Bunko which release on the same day) have to the best of my knowledge never actually released on the 1st (it's usually between 25th and 30th of the month before the official release date), and every retailer would have it in stock and selling several days earlier, with the volumes always be listed as being on sale at the earlier date by retailers.

Compare that to MF Bunko J, whose release date is the 25th of the month, and who actually released on the 25th this month (like usual), but whose releases accumulated sales in the previous week due to preorders being shipped a few days early (and probably a few rogue retailers selling early as well).

ANIME WHEN, JAPAN?
DON'T YOU BASE ANIME ADAPTATIONS ON WHETHER OR NOT THEY'LL SELL? WELL YOU HAVE PERFECTLY GOOD POPULAR SERIES JUST WAITING TO GET ADAPTED BUT DON'T, THEN YOU GO AND ADAPT SHITTY LIGHT NOVEL HAREMS INSTEAD.
...
Sorry, had to get that out of my system.
I'm sure Horimiya will get an anime eventually (I hope) but I seriously doubt any of the other ones will. This whole time I thought it was another case of Japan having shit taste again but clearly these series are selling, so I really don't get it.
