What's the most expensive thing you've broken? And did you consider suicide because of it?

So on my way to the kitchen about 10 minutes ago I lost my grip on my laptop, but by some matrix miracle I managed to defy the laws of physics and fall faster than it did, grabbing it just before it hit the ground.

The two things I love the most in this world are my beautiful VAIO laptop and my PS Vita. So if I broke one of them and didn't have the money in my pocket to immediately replace them I'd probably kill myself.

So I ask you MAL, what's the most expensive thing you've broken? And what made you commit such an unspeakable crime?
I think crashing a car counts as breaking something, luckily I hate driving so I haven't had enough chances to crash one.

I went swimming with my phone.. My swimming pants had pockets, so I made full use of them. Didin't take out my phone, though

edit; maybe not the most expensive, but it IS the dumbest thing I've done that includes breaking something expensive.

I threw out about 50-70 NES games because I was 7 and thought that because the consoles died that I couldn't play the games anymore.

Half those games are worth like $100 to $500 now so

yeah

Heart transplants aren't paid with two nickels, thanks Obamacare. Shame on you, that's harsh to say.

My laptop, which cost at least 1k. I carried it around with me to school, and then one day, I accidentally dropped it. Needless to say, I was devastated. But no, I didn't consider suicide.

Ouch.

When you say that the NES console died, do you mean it wouldn't come on at all, or did you get a blue blinking screen?

Hm, maybe my old mp3 player? I managed to wash it with my clothes. I wasn't too sad, cause I don't break things often, it was obviously a result of stress.
It was not less than 5 years old by then... Still I liked it better than the one I got later, even though I upgraded from 2Gb to 16Gb.

My Sony earphones. The day it broke, the next day I bought a new one. Quite expensive too but this new earphones, again Sony, is better. Although it did leave me broke for a few months. Never regretted in buying it, not even a thought of it.

And I can't live without my computer either.

Broke a lot of shit over the years, but nothing to consider suicide over it.

However, if I did break my computer and then couldn't afford a new one, then yes I may consider that possibility.

You guys consider suicide over broken computers? Talk about sad first world issues...

And yeah, I once dropped my laptop down the stairs and the whole screen cracked. I just saved up money to buy a new one, no biggie.

Years ago I was at my friend's house, and we wound up knocking over his parents' TV.

I'm just glad it wasn't at my house, cause I would have been murdered.

When I was a kid my mp3 player fell into the water, because I was bathing while listening to music :( I did the same thing with my smartphone a few years later, but thankfully I managed to save it ;_;

I wasn't feeling that terrible, just stopped using it, I was only afraid that my parents could notice that. But they never did.

My first PS2 overheated and broke. It was the big one. 2 years later, I got another PS2 (a slim, this time). 8 years later, it's broken as well. Fixable, but too broke to take it to repairs.

I dropped my super expensive MacBook twice but it didn't break. I dropped my cell phones and mp3 players several times but they never broke. The only expensive thing that I broke and that I remember was a glass panel in one of my parent's display cabinets when I was a kid. Otherwise I've been pretty lucky so far or my stuff is all just of good quality and doesn't break so easily.

...you know what, tech wasn't the worst thing I broke by a big margin, The worst thing I broke was my toilet bowl. I dropped a bottle of oil I was getting form a cupboard behind it and it just broke in pieces (both thinds actually). I was stressed out by exams again, it was hot summer, and we had to live without a toilet bowl for a couple of days. I am super accurate around the new thing.

I had my iPhone in my back pocket and forgot so when I went to pee, I pulled my pants down and my phone fell in the toilet and I proceeded to pick it out quickly and wash it off in the sink. I utterly hate myself.

Omfg no, my fucking mac. I dropped jack daniels all over it, I was too drunk to react in the first 15 secs then freaked out, but by then it was too late.

I am not really updated on the black market, but I doubt a human heart goes for a penny and two packs of chewing gum.

OT: I broke someone's face and I had to pay 3000$ as compensation, if that counts?
