Why watch the anime version when you already read it from the original source?

Why do some people do that? Most manga, light novels, visual novels, etc., adapted into anime pretty much have the same story so the surprise factor gets lowered.I mean, you know what's gonna happen already so why bother?

P.S.
And yeah, stop with the "because it's moving"or"I want sounds".I know that most of us care just for the story so really, stop with that.

Another P.S.
Vice Versa of the title.

to see the characters you like voiced and animated.

certain users also do it to bash secondaries and show how superior they are because they read the source material.

and also i have seen a lot on anime episode discussions about people complaining about spoilers and the complainers a lot of times already know the story by reading/playing the source material so its kinda does not make sense for them to complain about spoilers when they already know whats gonna happen anyway

and the most recent example are those Priests on Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Bladeworks by ufotable

heck why even complain about spoilers when its just an adaptation, those who already know the story are spoiled long ago for example but they are still watching it or getting spoiled too

Pretty much why I only watch anime and don't read manga. I just want to see the pretty colorful pictures and hear those lovely Chinese voices!

For me it's Color, Soundtrack, Voice and Animation with the action scenes where applicable. Pretty much what the manga doesn't have. It makes for a much more immersive experience especially if you never read the source material.

Better question would be why do people read manga when they already saw the anime.

Speaking from a purely objective standpoint, it's simply the better medium to present a story. A manga in general only allows you to convey the atmosphere of a scene by using its still visuals, whereas an animation can make use of moving pictures, visual effects, the soundtrack and of course the voice acting. The logically better question would thus be why anyone prefers the manga versions over an anime, though I think we don't need to seriously ask this question, as it ultimately always boils down to personal preference and adaptation differences.

Because you have the authority to criticize it, knowing you knew the original source.

Feeling superior aren't they?

Then bash them claiming, it'll be an anime original adaption after all. LOL

You can't have an original adaption. In order to adapt something, there must be a source material. What you are speaking of is filler, which is not an adaption but rather anime-original.

In some cases you could view making anime adaptation of manga as an attempt to reach a whole new audience. I know a few people who never read manga because they just can't get into it but they watch anime all the time.

I ask my this every few seasons....

Normally it is due to peer pressure. Friends expect me to talk to them about my favorite manga/LN/VN if it is animated and they'll finally experience it (as the anime). It is a horrible reason to watch.

There was only one adaption I thought was okay, but even they left out a lot ><. That just goes for the things I experienced the original, perhaps my favorite anime is actually shit compared to the VN (I heard so).

That's you, but you can't assume that's the case for everyone. Some people really enjoy experiencing a story they liked, but in all new medium all together. It's an all new way to experience the same story, which can be a very exiting thing for people.

Few reasons, it make you recall what happened in the manga and see someone elce interprete things a bit different, especially if they change anime.
Another reason is to compare your ideas and imaginations to the voices or animations they put into anime ( probably this is why for me lots of anime [ after reading manga ] was just weak )

Well there could be many reasons.

For instance,Assassination Classroom is the only manga i refused to read until the anime is over with. Why? Simple. The anime's artwork and symbolism along with the artwork is so good, that i cannot read the manga.I tried my hardest, but its impossible.

The only reason i would ever do it is if the anime is over, and i have no choice to read it to continue the story.

It's hard to explain, but certain animation can just trigger something for someone that pages just can't convey. That's just my take on it.

I don't really get it, either

I don't watch movies based on books I've watched because every single time I see changes and interpretations that I don't like. My imagined version of the story and characters is destroyed and replaced by sets and actors.

To keep this short and sweet - Because Anime has sound and animation, among many other things.

Why read from the original source when you've seen the Anime version?

This mostly applies to the vice versa here, but sometimes an anime adaptation is, well, bad, and I personally would like to read the source material because you never know, maybe that anime was a really sucky adaptation of a manga/LN/VN/whatever that was actually good and that's why you didn't like it. This also applies to anime that are unfinished because of no second season, such as Deadman Wonderland or Berserk. Generally, a lot more people watch anime than read source material such as light/visual novels and manga, so it's also a matter of "How is this series I really love going to be presented" since it can either get people to buy the source material because they like it (like DanMachi's LNs atm) or completely flop and ruin chances of more seasons.

And like offmodel said, some anime can be better than the source material.

Sometimes the anime can improve a manga because the mangaka doesn't know how to draw (hxh, attack on titan) or that kind of story is better animated or the music changes everything (cowboy bebop).
Sometimes the anime can offer a different perspective for better comprehension of the setting (planetes)
Sometimes people are lazy and reading subs is easier than reading scans.

There often isn't, hence why I normally try the animated version first. It's tough to get motivated to watch something I've already read, hence why I could never get into Monster or Gunslinger Girl's adaptations (the latter being incomplete doesn't help). If there are differences between the two then it might be fun to compare at least though.
