Holy snap, Osamu ran right into the line of fire. The good news I suppose is that Yuuma's replica is there to help him out.

Some of the fighting feels like it's dragging though. However, I will say that the story arc is keeping up the momentum in terms of conflict building especially for the most prominent Aftokrator's members. Enedra in particular is having a lot of fun :o

The Rabit that Replica was using looked pretty cool. Enedra is proving to be quite the formidable foe, next week's battle should be quite exciting (hopefully they don't drag anything out or waste too much time)

He needs people to reminds him of what he must do. He must protect the girl's cube.

Wow, Replica replicated Rabbit. Neighbor guy continues to fight that old enemy.

Black trigger found a way to undo the practice room. The leader came to fight himself against black trigger. He's strong, but Black trigger is stronger.

The girl in cube and Replica in Chibi explanation about Rabbit.

I'd actually wish this show would go on break considering that in the last couple of episodes, they've been padding up with recaps and re-airings of the last few minutes of the previous episodes.

They do that every episode :P
Ya gotta get used to it...

Well now we know the full reason how "Replica" got his name.

Damn, here I thought the decision on weather Osamu lives or not would be this episode, but only 200 seconds were killed...
Oh well, good action going on at least.

Not quite KHR's 6 min recap yet.

Also, great episode! Replica showing us some new things, Osamu becoming a quick thinker, and OP Commander Kido! But even better is that the enemy is actually quite intelligent and quick despite his character archetype. I didn't expect him to survive the commander's attack (power balance!) so I think we'll get to see more.

Wonderful to see that the commander is really strong, shows that the organization's structure is based around power. I have to wonder about the other two leaders, but I think they have good traits and powers too considering their position.

I read the manga but gosh they animated Shinoda's battle with Endora so nicely! OMG he's so badass!!!

Gosh, now I can't wait to buy a figurine of Shinoda, alongside Yuma, Jin and Osamu!

2 Rabits jump Osamu and he actually holds his own for a few seconds. Loved the Raygust blade sticking out of the Rabit's neck.

Shinoda makes a Badass entrance and follows it up with a Badass Boast. Then starts to make good on that boast. I found it funny that Enedora'a attack was countered by turning on the AC full blast. Shinoda is right, Enedora's Black Trigger isn't it's power, but it's uniqueness.

Replica saves Osamu by first shielding him and then gateing in his own little suprise.... A Rabit, he created, after analysing the first one they encountered, complete with Border insignia. It can more then hold it's own against the 2 Mod Rabits. Border Rabit kicks butt.
Summoning Dark: "What kind of human creates his own policeman?"

Watcman: "One who fears the dark."

"And so he should," said the enity, with satisfaction.

"Indeed. But I think you misunderstand. I am not here to keep the darkness out. I'm here to keep it in." There was a clink of metal as the shadowy watchman lifted a dark lantern and opened it's little door. Orange light cut through the blackness. "Call me . . . the Guarding Dark. Imagine how strong I must be."

Getting real tired of Toei putting 6 minute recaps, 2 minute OP's wherever they fell like and a 4 to 6 minute summary in every episode lately. Making me not like the really good part in the middle.

Next level stalling by Toei -
3 minute opening scene, 3 minute recap, characters talking slowly, stretching out scenes, putting op song in the middle to give a sense of beginning.

"claps" beautiful :'(

Hope they make Chika Rabits :)

Osamu would've been in a Daipinchi if Replica didn't appear at the right moment. That black Rabbit was quite amazing!

Kuga vs. Viza seems to be going well. Wished they'd shown us how Jin vs. Hyuse is coming along.

Good to see Enedora didn't go down even when Kido came at him with full force. This'd be an interesting fight.

Decent episode, but what the hell Toei? These recaps and abrupt pauses are totally unnecessary. >.>

I've made the same assumption in episode 29 discussion (when the countdown first started) for episode 30, then came back in episode 30 discussion to refute it. They're actually going for Frieza Time: killing only ~200s (3 or 4 min) of the countdown each episode. We can expect 4 more episodes (and the cliffhanger in the last one) if they keep that pace, but I hope they do something to speed up the things (maybe shortening the annoying recaps would do the trick).

There is more then enough action for time to be streched out. Also, there are many factors influencing Osamu's fate. Remember that Jin asked Miwa to save Osamu during this invasion. Saying that Miwa may be the only one who could save him.

Each battle and it's results pushes Osamu towards or away from the 'Worse Possible Outcome' as Jin calls it, Osamu's death.

As for the Pacing.... We have 19 episodes left and even if we get 2 chapters per episode. The show will go past the current manga chapters. This episode ends mid-way through chapter 71 of the manga. We are on track for the anime to end at chapter 109 at the earilest, probably closer to chapter 115, perhaps even higher. By the time the final episode airs the manga should be at chapter 120+. So we should expect more filler, not less.

The good news is that we'll get to see the next Arc animated as well.

If the current manga arc finishes in the next 16 weeks and the anime wants to animate all that (heroic assumptions, considering the health of the author, the lead time needed to make an episode, and Jump's double issues), assuming 3 chapter/episode pacing, which seems to translate to about 17 minutes of anime, the anime will need 3 full episode recap on top of 3 minutes wasting time in the form of recaps, fillers, or awkward pauses. Alternatively, Toei can put in a 3 episode filler, but this is probably too much work for Toei.

If Toei uses 2.67 chapter/episode pacing, the anime will need 1 full episode recap on top of 5 minutes wasting time, basically similar to this episode pacing. After the current anime arc finishes, there's a natural place for a 1 full episode recap. I think Toei will go this route.

The above assumption will only give Toei 1 month to animate the last episode. Toei might need to end it with original ending if they need more than 1 month to make an episode.

I was just pointing to how it suffers from Frieza Time complex: a 21 minute countdown (1 episode) was stretched to what seems to be a 5 episode countdown.

Doing the rest of the story in a few episodes or in many episodes won't change the fact they'll need to pad with some recaps/fillers.

Personally, I'd prefer a full filler arc (original content) after the story ends than this recaps we have right now. Just imagine: if we had 0 recap time in all episodes, but still 50 episodes long series, we'd have maybe 1 or 2 (short) original arcs after the point where the manga ends.

But knowing Toei, that's just an impossible dream of mine.

Why are people suddenly complaining about the long recaps at the beginning of the episode? It's not like they didn't happen from the second episode on. And besides which, this is a multi-cour SHONEN animated by TOEI, so unless you have no clue about anime whatsoever and have never heard of shows like Dragonball Z, Hokuto no Ken or especially One Piece, you know that each episode will feature a long recap of the previous episode. That's been Toei's MO for pretty much their entire existence.

Shinoda is the strongest in the executive group. Kido and Rindou should have lower fighting skill. The only border personnel that could compare to Shinoda would be Yuuma's dad, if he were alive (based on manga extra).

Miwa is probably still busy escorting the C-ranks in his assigned area.

Thanks. I'm curious though, is Shinoda the most powerful character in Border?

He's definitely more powerful than Tachikawa, which would imply that Shinoda is more powerful than Jin-san as well. But of course there are the black trigger users like Amo and Miwa..

Now that's pretty badass for Shinoda to join the battle himself.. and while i'm not really a fan of Enedra, it's good to see that he hasn't down yet.. Next week we even got that Afrokator chick to join the fray.. i guess i can expect something from her since she also a black trigger's user.. Overall a great episode.. can't wait to see the following episode..

Pretty sure the most powerful one would be Amo with his nuke BT, the most skillful would be Jin with his BT Fujin but he gave that away, so yeah. Shinoda is the most skillful with a normal trigger says the WT wiki, Tachikawa is his student but given that Tachikawa carries the title "Overall Nr 1" I think he surpassed his teacher sometime ago.

Good episode, Shinoda taking a shot"cut" and then beating a BT like nobody's business was great to watch! I like how they are able to beat Enedra due havign analysied his trigger and not due being more powerful than him. Shinoda's cuts adn slashes would mean nothing without the knowledge about his dummy trion supply centers and the AC blowing down wind to keep Enedra's not so secret anymore secret weapon at bay.
And then Enedra turns the battle around by going on higher ground and thus making his poison trion useful again! Such a simple repositioning having such a big battle impact is great! Instead of BIGGER AND BIGGER AND BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGER attacks which results in energy balls bigger than earth or moves that could slice the planet in half WT relays on strategy, tactics and information gathering combinded with skills and power on its battles. A well done combo I really enjoy watching. <3

Soooo True. Border is a defense force and acts like it is. Everyone is working together, sharing informtion about the enemies and using it to defeat them. This make World Trigger different from so many other animes. Even the lowest ranked Border Agent has value and can contribute to this battle.

Idk what made me think of this, but this show is way better than MHA/BnHA. Both obviously have good vs evil battles, quirks/triggers, a large ensemble cast, etc. This show just does it better.

As for this episode...

It's really hard to see how the good future outcome prevails. Border isn't half bad, but they just didn't know enough about the enemy. They've held their own well, but they're a little outmatched.
