This isn't a character song. It is a collaboration single between KADOKAWA Media Ascii Works and Dengeki G's magazine.

On the sales, decent sales for this single that doesn't have any bonuses bundled and is not associated with the anime at all. Even that Cinderella Girls single with an event ticket serial code could not beat it... We know what an event ticket can do for Love Live, with BD 2nd Season Vol.1 selling 82K+ in the 1st week, but the music doesn't need one anyway. The mobile game serial code does more than enough anyway.

I also can't wait to see how high the Love Live movie grosses, and how high the movie BDs and the 5th concert sells. The 4th concert is almost at 60K and has no bonuses at all, so the fanbase is pretty big for a late-night anime franchise.

I've seen some comments go so far as trying to ridicule the new u's single for getting outsold by Bump of Chicken's new single (a really great song by a mainstream rock band IMO) and it's numbers not being where they were when singles were being promoted alongside and then turning around and celebrating the IM@S singles for being slightly above where the original anime's were with all the event tickets and what not packaged in that the original anime's releases never had (and Love Live certainly doesn't have nor apparently needs anymore) and claiming that IM@S has triumphed over u's even though the numbers are literally there for everyone to see. Again at the end of the day it hardly matters, it's all to the benefit of Bamco, but like wow that's some strong dedication to wanting to really wanting to see things a certain way.

I mean it just doesn't get anymore clear cut than a single not tied in anyway to an anime with no event ticket or extras having a better first week than a single tied to a popular heavily promoted anime with an event ticket. If that's not convincing enough nothing ever will be really.
