A scan of the latest issue of Hobby Japan magazine, released on April 25, announced that Queen's Blade Grimoire will be adapted into an OVA. Comprised of two disc volumes, it will be bundled with the release of the next visual combat book of the Queen's Blade series in Fall 2015. The project is made to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Queen's Blade. The staff members from the first season, Queen's Blade: Rurou no Senshi, were also announced to return.

Queen's Blade is a series of visual combat books first published in 2005 by Hobby Japan. Queen's Blade Rebellion succeeded the original title and then was followed by Queen's Blade Grimoire. The series received three TV anime adaptations, four manga adaptations, three light novels, and a video game adaptation.

So the synopsis sounds super-dodgy. Like the beginning of a semi-sexual blackmail film which results in Stockholm Syndrome.
I think I'll give this one a miss.

The first two seasons of Queen's Blade where good, the last one not so much. That said I'm looking forward to this. Even though it's mindless Ecchi most of the time, it has it's moments and some of the characters are likable. Also looking forward to seeing what they do with the soundtrack this time around. This series has a great OST.

As usual MAL user base makes it clear how much they dislike the Ecchi genre and prejudge shows like this without actually watching them. Not that I'm saying I would recommend this to anyone that is offended by half naked women. It's really not as bad as most people make it out to be.

ppl are so used to their shitty anime only making it to 2 season that they call anything with more seasons "milking" an anime

Holy crap, not going to lie, I'm actually looking forward to this. Queen's Blade is one of those rare series where it's extremely ecchi, but still has a pretty damn good plot. Of course, there are specials only focusing on "PLOT." XD The soundtrack also is quite amazing.

Alicia, the girl on the image, was character designed by Kurehito Misaki who was also the illustrator for the Saekano light novel series. I'm thinking that each Grimoire episode will be a mini-arc rather than individual character arcs since there are too many new characters to introduce if characters each had their own episode arcs like in Vanquished Queens.

I thought this series was dead because Rebellion sold poorly. Good to see it's getting another chance, even if it's an OVA.

This is a gift for us real ones who are struggling through all those weak ass ecchi shows.

Consider it a blessing.

They wasted way too many episodes on pointless meandering. Much like the first season. The last few episodes where great and the ending was good but it had a horrible cliff hanger.

I'm hoping these new OVA's expand where it left off. At least, I hope they get away from the cast of Rebellion which kinda sucked.

Grimoire is set in a parallel universe, so it will have no relation to the previous series.

Yay, more Queen's Blade. This series is my #1 guilty pleasure, so I always welcome more. Grimore is set in a different universe though, so i wonder how they are going to adapt this one.

They just don't want me to complete the series easily, do they? They are just going to keep making one every year until I give up or what?

Joke aside, I think the art has become less and less of the original QB art. The art looks great without a doubt but she looks more like Alice in the wonderland than anything else.

That's because she is Alice. All the characters in Grimore are based on classic literary figures. They also have Little Red Riding Hood (named Zara), Princess Kaguya, Gretel, The Little Mermaid (named Tiina), Kintaro (named Goldie), and a few others. :)

Despite not finishing a single QB TV series, I've seen all the OVA's I think. Lol. Will probably watch this one too if it's just OVAs.

Ah, that could be a good thing then again maybe not. I just hope the cast is better than Rebellions at least.

Oh good to hear. I love the series actually. I thought ti would be bad at first, but I'm shocked. I didn't know Rebellion did bad. My friends and few others have been telling all the epic things that happen in it. Well I gotta check it out. I still gotta catch up with Rebellion. I finished the other two seasons. Reina is a little mary sueish but likable. I don't see why people trash this when there is much worst.
Studio Trigger is like that food you always want but hate when it is sold out in the stores. That's how good Studio Trigger is.

I was wondering if this franchise is dead (at least the anime) but I'm glad to hear it still continues. Still haven't watched a season though, I'm not sure if I'm ready for this show yet xD
